Vargas is bad luck.
Does this mean that Chuckles is busy packing for Baghdad?
To: frankjr
But what about his blonde sidekick? Hey, she can come on with him when Elizabeth Vargas goes on maternity leave this winter.

Charlie Gibson is a Peter Jennings and Ted Koppel want-to-be style agenda driver.

I don't hear much about Woodruff. He must have been very badly injured.

Gibson seems to be a nice enough guy. All he'll be doing is what the rest of the do anyway.......read the tele-prompter.

He was.

Charlie Gibson has more warmth and personality than both of those two combined in his little finger. I think he'd be great at it. Good for him.

Charlie tried to leave about 8 years ago, the ratings tanked and they dragged him back. Got rid of hmmmm.... what was her name (?) and put in Diane Sawyer. They may be liberals, but it's a darned sight better than The Formerly Perky One and her buzz head sidekick over at NBC.
For the record, I don't watch either of them.

With the exception of Brit Hume, you could put all of these television news flaks in a hat, shake it up, dump it out and you would come out with the same person -- an air-brushed/lib/socialist/anti-American/anti-Bush media whore.

How much are they paying Charlie Gibson? $10 million? Whatever it is, it can't be enough... (sarcasm)

He was. But he is improving. He's up and talking, but I don't know how much and how well. But that's good news for now.

Hopefully they'll get rid of that phony Vargas- with her overacting facial expressions feigning false empathy ... I prefer ABC's evening news to the other networks ... and I like Vargas ... however, your assessment of her is on the money. She needs to tone down the facial expression thing a notch or two.

Next time you watch her turn the volume off. you will then see how much she overacts with her face. I think she tries to imitate Diane Sawyer -without the class.

What's all the Charlie bashing?
I am telling you the 100% God's-honest truth that I will watch Charlie just as much as I watched Woodruff and watch Vargas.
