Why do they bother? They'd just pretend it was a lone crazy and the media would ignore it anyway.
"Forget Tom Clancy's fiction, that kid tried at the Universtiy of Oklahoma (correct me freepers if I've got the location wrong) just this past football season."
Jihadi Joel Hinrichs at OU, Norman. You're right.
How are they going to know who the bombers are?
If only one plane had been involved on 9/11, it would have been sold as an unfortunate accident.
Very scary thought, and yes, the one that exploded off of LI, too.
How much longer would the large-scale denial have lasted?
Of course, the politically-correct IMDB completely ignores the Islamokazi references in the movie.
Cost-effective? Has Osama been handing out copies of "Who Moved My Cheese"?
I was thinking the same thing, seems Hendricks was agead of his time.
The people in the WTC didn't know it was a terrorist attack. We've got different circumstances now.
I'm watching the ACC tournament on ESPN2, they just did a segment on this story during a timeout. Kind of unusual for ESPN to report on a threat like this... especially right in the middle of a game.
I think you're right.

That's more than a little interesting. Guess someone is paying attention.
The "large scale denial" would have lasted as long as the sheeple bought into it. And there are more and more sheeple in America every day.
If I recall, the last Tom Clancy movie had the A-Bomb in a Coke machine at a sporting event... I think we should all start freaking out.... NOW!
can we sell American sports stadiums to the UAE?"
Naah, just let them operate the ticket lines.
Why do I think of Woody Allen when that picture is posted?
Somewhere in my hundreds of sci-fi books is a disturbing little novella that portrays a future in which terror attacks seldom become known because special government teams "sanitize" the area of any attack.NO witnesses left alive to spread the panic,NO news coverage, and the sites quickly bulldozed, and rebuilt or turned into parkland, parking lots. Not going to look for the story but it was published sometime in the 1980's I think, probably in Analog ot Asimov. There are a few good writers who can look at a new invention or trend and extrapolate societal changes such as another did with early cellphones.I never would have thought that everyone had to be in constant contact.....
I don't do sporting events. I stopped going to places where crowds convene a long time ago. Just enjoy myself in different ways...Small gatherings...
