No problem about the late response. The article you linked to made a lot of interesting points, and I think the author and I are pretty much on the same page. I do think it is possible for a parent to be too involved in a child's life (I know I certainly believed that when I was a kid!), but I still thik it's a good thing for a parent to take an active, daily role in how their children are raised.
And as for preferences - shouldn't we be grateful, in a way, that many women (esp.) declare they don't want kids? If she doesn't want them, we won't have to deal w/the mess she'd make of them, right? ;-)
I agree, just as we should be very grateful for the good moms out there raising the next generation of responsible citizens.
It's kind of like insisting some1 who doesn't really appreciate music must sing. Usually, you don't want to sing because you can't sing. It's natural law. Who would want some1 who cannot sing well at all to sing all the time?
My music teacher wouldn't agree with you there, but I do. Unfortunately, a lot of people are so enthused about he things they like, they can't imagine any possible reason why someone else might think differently. Even more unfortunately, that seems to be a common occurence when it comes to society and politics.
"My music teacher wouldn't agree with you there"
Well, I was talking ludicrous situations, like a grown adult being chastised into singing aloud every 15 min of his life! ;-)
