Budweiser One Night Stand (Part 1)
Marty Smith is asking the questions tonight. It started out with the music video "Right Here" by Staind.
Once Dale Jr got on stage, Marty asked him what he did during the off weekend. Dale Jr said he went to Las Vegas with his buddies. They played Basketball and bowling in the Palm's suites. Junior then said that he isn't a good basketball player but he loves to play. He said he "gets rough" playing. Also, while in Vegas he played at the Roulette tables but he doesn't gamble much. He just watched his buddies gamble. He still doesn't know how to play craps.
Marty Smith then asked him about the Las Vegas track. Dale Jr said he started out great in the Busch Series. He hasn't had a good run but we've started to turn things around at California. He hopes to come into Vegas and turn it around there too. He said the program for Vegas is heading in the right direction.

Why Dale Jr got out of the draft? He went for the win. No one would do anything so he took the opportunity to win. He didn't get any help. He thought that Clint Bowyer would help, but as we all know by now..he didn't!
What was going through your mind? Dale Jr said he just wanted to pull away and win. He said "crew didn't build this car to play follow the leader"

Even after the crash he had here, he doesn't get freaked out. He just got spun out. He said it was a "freak deal"
Running well in 06 compared to 05: Dale Jr said he wanted to do better this year. We have great cars for Bristol, Atlanta, Richmond. We just need to get better cars for the tracks we aren't good at.
Marty Smith then asked Dale Jr if Martin Jr went with them to Las Vegas. Junior sai dthat Martin went with his girlfriend to St. Thomas. He then said that he and his buddies think Martin Jr is going to pop the question to Sherie soon. They have all taken bets, going by months. If Dale JR wins, he is getting clear pool balls. Marty then asked if he could get in on the bet.
They then showed video from some of Dale Jr's most memorable races. He said in the incar that winning at Phoenix was important. Marty wanted to know why. Dale Jr said "when you travel that far you have to win"

Hey tube, hopefully we can get through qualifying. Most of the teams did all their practice today because tomorrow looks bad.
I have been hoping for some weather for weeks now and nothing, so you guys got it all. Snow flurries sound fab!! I finally took my snowman mailbox cover off and put the springtime one out. :)
Jeff Green should be about ready to fire up that 66. He tested well at Vegas and was second in practice today behind Shrub, so look for a fast time from him depending on the wind.
Also interesting that since this is no longer impound racing you can run with minimum fuel which is what Happy's crewchief was penalized for last year.
I had some pics from quals, but looks like Tinypic is malfunctioning. Hope it's just because of heavy traffic on the internet backbone neat their server.
Most of the servers that host pics go down now and then.

I think I have a good line-up for this week and can catch up on some points. But ya never know if the big one is gonna take 'em out. LOL
Rocket up to 4th place.
One thing about racing is one little thing can ruin your day be it in the engine or someone wrecking ya!

Did you all see the graphics about how the track is getting more banking, less width? From 70 feet wide to around 50 or so...

They have a fan zone like Daytona coming but it's a level above the garage area so you can watch the teams come and go during practice etc. Sounds GREAT!!
