Tragic exceptions: hospital patients and nursing home residents.Yep, and Louisiana first of all failed to plan to evacuate such helpless people and then initially turned down an offer of federal help. That is the most damning aspect of the Katrina story.

Terrific post! I'm sending it to BROWN, the whiner. Can you believe him? I'm sending this to Bush, then he can stop apologizing. I'm nominating the editor of PM for President. Courageous, truthful, clear-thinking, logical, a can-do attitude: who needs more in a President?

I heard a pundit say that Popular Mechanics was going to do a story on Katrina, and I thought it was a joke.

Funny how we can get more FACTS from a private investigation than we ever will from the billions we have and will spend on Congresscritters trying to cast and elude blame.
I'm still waiting on the legislation introduced from that idiot Congressman from GA who told Brownie that it should be FEMA's responsibilty to make sure everybody had a 5 gallon can of gas before the storm so they could escape.

"Its amazing how quickly the press forgot their own highly publicized casualty estimates in the tens of thousands, and saw no victory in that number coming in 90 to 95 percent less than they had advertised."
Ha ha, that reminds of press coverage during Desert Shield, of Saddam Hussein's million-man army of hardened desert fighters, and pundits estimates of tens of thousands of American casualties in a sandy Vietnam.
Why do they make such estimates at all nayway? Aren't they supposed to report what happened, and not prognosticate on what might be?

I just skimmed the article on 9/11 myth busting in PM...excellent article.
Even though it is from last year, it should be posted on FR.

Very nice reporting. I found this line to be of particular interest: "Taxpayers across the country are paying for a minute number of people to rebuild time and time again in the path of hurricanes."

I have emailed this article to my grandkids, just in case any teacher of theirs started spouting off liberal lies. LOL In fact I have been emailing lotsa info from FR (especially global warming articles) to them to help them along in life! Course their dad is a Marine, so I get plenty of help from him.
