My parents used to say the same thing. 20 Years ago. That was back when Reagan was in charge and conservatism was blessedly uncompassionate.

and watch what happens to your son as he separates from the prissy and is forced to interface with the primal. It is magical. Often a pleasure and responsibility enjoyed by grandparents too. I do.

I think youth soccer leagues are representative of the problem. When I was a kid, boys played football and baseball, we had fistfights and got muddy. Girls did ballet and cheerleading. Today, every kid I see plays on a coed soccer team. There is no differentiation between boys and girls. Then these kids become teenagers and become homosexuals. It's sickening.

I commented, in front of my feminist sister-in-law, that I brought my son up to be prepared to be the breadwinner someday, and to be able to take care of his wife and children. I thought she was going to choke! LOL!

I have 3 boys. This subject weighs heavy on my mind all the time. After school on Fri. we head to the lake where they fish, ride motorbikes, rake leaves, fix the house....Im in the middle of the "War Against Boys" right now. God bless them.

I dont have boys... Thank God for that. I can only imagine the results of raising a boy with this kind of expectations.

First off, parents, please note that the cradle God created for His firstborn was rough countrya thorny, critter-laden and butt-kicking badland.
While I do agree with the point of this article, what he has done is deceitfully use the scriptures to make his point.
The garden that God made was perfect. All Adam had to do was walk around and eat of its abundance. The "thorny, critter-laden and butt-kicking badland" was a direct result of Adams defiance to Gods command.
Cordially,
GE

Yes, I have a son too. We homeschooled. I think the road to manhood is a long and difficult 'birth,' fraught with landmines. Look at how many men don't make it more than 3/4 of the way.
I liked this article except it was so 'Valley Girl' in its style. Was going to send it to my son (at college) but the style .........

I think this is a lot of what draws both teenaged and twenty-something boys and girls to liberalism. The conservatives preach, "you don't work, you don't eat, deal with it". The libs preach, "don't worry about it, the government will take care of you". It's a lot easier to be lazy.

Absolutely! People today underestimate the value of a good, old fashion butt kicking! Either end. If you loose, you learn that no matter how bad you think you are - someone is badder. If your win - well, that is self explanatory.

I only have two daughters (couldn't put the stem on the apple as Bill Cosby put it) but it's not easy raising girls either. Nowadays you have to teach girls that they do have to be strong and self-reliant without being femminazis (Thanks Rush for that wonderful term!). The days of our parents or grandparents where the man worked and the woman stayed at home are gone.
