"Islam will continue to march because the West is still, thus far, unwilling to call it what it is and fight our enemy fully."
I agree whole heartedly
I also believe that in some respects it is a very complicated war.
First you misread and misinterpret what this essay by Brigitte Gabriel was all about. When I try and correct you, you say she's painting with a broad brush. Even when other Freepers point out how wrong you are, you continue misstating the authors position.
Throughout this thread you have given the impression that the Islamic world in general, is a critical ally to America, who we can't do without and who we can't afford to piss off. What spineless drivel. We're the super power. They're a bunch of theocratic sheikdoms. Then you throw Turkey up as some sort of template for all Islamic states to follow. What baloney.
Then out of the blue, you agree with me that killing "jihadists" and "islamofascists" is good, yet in the next breath, you qualify that remark by once again saying we can't go overboard and upset our Muslim allies.
I say we should embody some of the philosophy that PresReagan employed in winning the Cold War, and you have no response whatsoever. As the US becomes more energy indepenedent, we can stop buying ME oil. Nothing wrong with that. Such a policy may not bankrupt the ME oil producers at first, but it would cut them down to size and cut funding for terrorsim. You object to that too. One of the basic conservative tenets. Take care of your own first, everyone else is secondary. You seem to have a problem with that conservative philosophy and its America first attitude.
Conclusion, you're a status quo centrist who supports Bush, right or wrong. You ignore the facts and promote a globalist strategy for America. I don't like your politics.
That's good to hear. Sleep well.
Maybe I should clarify it for you.... How many terrorists have we captured or killed in Iran since 9/11? Now How many terrorists have we captured or killed in Pakistan? How about Yemen? Saudi Arabia? Do you now understand that without their help, short of invading every country we will not only lose, but this movement will grow.
Nothing you can say at this point will change my mind. I do not like your politics. The US is engaged in a war on terror that encompasses the entire world, but centralized in the ME. If the US has to take on Iran, followed by Syria and later down the road Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and even the UAE, SO BE IT! War is not for the faint of heart. We should never kowtow to the enemy because they hold access to oil over our heads. We should never appease the Islamic nationstates, who just a short time ago sponsored terrorism, gave cover to Osama Bin Laden and condoned killing Americans. The theocratic sheikdoms of these Islamic nationstates shouldn't be trusted in the long term. And they shouldn't be fully trusted in the short term either. The US will lose the WOT if we lose sight of the big picture. The Islamic world hates America and our way of life. You don't understand that and never will. This isn't a game of diplomacy. This is a matter of life and death for the USA and westerm civlization.
Thanks.... great article... shoulda been read at the oscars
Not only don't I like your politics, I don't like you attitude either. You have a cavalier attitude to your posts. One that shows no respect for this poster. Don't usually make an issue out of posting times, but I replied to you at 11:46 PM-MST. You wandered back at 1:25 AM-MSD, 17 posts and 100 minutes later. You're not serious about this debate. You're playing games. Stop wasting my time.
