I'm certain he'll find that oh so depressing.
But you have it backward. It's the true conservatives who are finished with the party-above-principle Big Tent GOP.
LOL!! OK. So go to the Constimatooshinalist Party and Michael whatever-his-name is.
That always works out so well.
There are many ways for the President, and his people, to get their message through. Their professional ineptitude and passivity has emboldened the media to indulge in a new level of partisanship. Certainly some of the big lies of the MSM should be ignored, but certainly not all.
GW is leaving office in 2 years. I think he has been a very good war-time president and among other things, I hope he can leave us at least 1 (or may it please the Lord, 2) more good Supreme. But if his legacy is to be Hillary or equivalent, and a Democrat majority in Congress, he'll be leaving the whole country in danger.
And while I am on this unpleasant subject of the GOP communications gap, what the Hell is Bush I doing pal-ing around with new best friend, Bill Clinton? What the Hell is Schwarznegger doing appointing an out-an-out Marxist as his No.1? By golly, Republican officeholders can sure make it tough to be a Republican!
You state reasonable concerns, and I am sympathetic with them. At the same time, I do not know of another person I would trust to have done a better job since 2001. I might come up with such a name, but no one who could have been elected.
Oh, that Bartlett.
Heartily concur.
What's got me worried is post-2008. I can easily see W getting carved into Mount Rushmore. Unfortunately, I can just as easily see him being unable to explain to the guards that he would like to visit.
Republicans will retain control of both houses of Congress in 2006, and may even improve their majorities in each. IMHO
I see you post that in every thread you go to Czar. It's beyond seriousness, and merits a laugh every time I see it.
You "true conservatives" haven't advanced anything in the true conservative movement by sitting at home. "Sitting" implies no movement, save for breathing and picking your nose. It conjures up images of laziness. Running toward some third party nobody conjures up imagery of gutlessness and cowardice.
But, continue to run toward some third party nobody Czar. I need the entertainment.
And what have you pretend-conservatives advanced, besides more of the same GOP/RNC party-above-principle big government/big spending liberal mush? In so doing, you confirm what we already knew--you believe, truly believe, in nothing other than political expediency.
" It conjures up images of laziness."
Real political laziness is putting yourself on automatic pilot in the voting booth, pulling the lever for that (R) on the ballot time after time, in that party-above-principle daze so characteristic of your drone like breed.
"Running toward some third party nobody conjures up imagery of gutlessness and cowardice."
It takes some courage and dedication to stick with principles and repudiate political expedience. Repeatedly pulling that lever to elect another (R)ino requires no guts or bravery, merely a peculiar sort of mindless dedication to party.
"But, continue to run toward some third party nobody..."
Actually, since the Republican party no longer believes in a conservative agenda, I am seriously considering re-registering as an independent. We'll see.
"I need the entertainment."
You need a lot more than entertainment. You need some principles. And guts. Those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.
And how is your slavish dedication to the Big Tent GOP/RNC working out for you party-above-principle types? Of course if you like big government, big spending and more government control over your life, then it's obviously your thing.
Just don't expect the rest of us to buy in. We're done.
Well said.
Bartlett has proven that it isnt only the left that has a Sept 20th mentality
""Now hes making more grim predictions for the president, for the future of the GOP and the United States.""
Bartletts predictions are usually wrong....he predicted that Bush's 2003 tax cuts wouldnt pass
he is also a fool if the medicare drug plan was the last straw, because Bush ran on it in 2000...guess Brucie was asleep
Fine. Then go someplace else. You are boring everybody here to death with your constant harping and whining.
I'm a hard right rudder conservative, so I plan to stay right here. The last time I checked, the FR mission statement as supplemented several times by Jim Robinson's affirming statements, makes it crytal clear that FR is a conservative site for conservatives. Since you are no conservative, but rather a party-above-principle Big Tent drone, exactly what explains your presence on this conservative site?
"You are boring everybody here to death with your constant harping and whining."
Not nearly as much as you do with your drone like allegiance to the party-above-principle Big Tent GOP. You RINOs are just like lemmings--you will blindly follow anyone with an (R) after his name.
I support people who actually get elected to office.
You back unemployed computer programmers who live with their mothers (Bednarik) or a goofball who put his own kid into foster care (Peroutka), neither of whom could get elected to anything.
Then you must be really satisfied with the glorious results of that support. Here's a hint: doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results is what we call stuck on stupid. But by all means continue your pointless exercise in futility.
That's just you being you.
Don't forget to re-up with the RNC. The 2006 membership card is really neat. It's even signed by your fearless leader, Ken Mehlman.
You'll absolutely love it.
