One of the nice things about an engineering degree from Clemson - we didn't have time for all the stupid stuff. It was get down to business and do it quickly.

If the calculus, differential eqn, orthogonal eqns & BVPs, organic chem, P. chem, physics, statics, dynamics, strengths of materials, electrical eng theory, kinetics, controls, and thermo professors were libs, they sure didn't have time to worm it into the classes!

Local authorities declined to discuss a motive.

It's so effing obvious it's doesn't need discussion! Throw the book at this terrorist!

The headline alone shows how little people care about incidents like this one.
Can you believe they would pass this off as just another evil SUV on a rampage? Well of course we can, that is why it is the old media.
This shouldn't be glossed over like the Univ.of OK student. Malkin had some great links on that story this week. I recommend checking it out.

No matter how much education a Muslim has, it appears they are incapable of rational thought.

And it's all the Joooos fault!

Is it a conservative city or liberal like Austin?

You're kidding right? It's a lot closer to Berkeley than Texas!

In checking the network websites, Fox News, MSNBC and ABC carry this story. To no one's surprise, CBS and CNN do not.

ABC was the only one that used the word Muslim in the headline.

Here is the Oklahoma information and http://www.michellemalkin.com/ has alot of info on this Carolina guy as well. She's da bomb...kaboom!

THE OU BOMBER: CASE NOT CLOSED
By Michelle Malkin · March 01, 2006 12:15 PM
So much for the lonely, depressed young student theory to explain how University of Oklahoma Joel Hinrichs found himself blown to bits on a park bench outside the packed campus football stadium last fall. The Daily Oklahoman reports on A1 today:

A Norman police bomb expert said Tuesday he does not believe University of Oklahoma student Joel Henry Hinrichs III committed suicide by blowing himself up outside a packed football stadium.
"I believe he accidentally blew himself up," Sgt. George Mauldin said.

Mauldin said Hinrichs, 21, an engineering student, had two to three pounds of triacetone triperoxide, commonly known as TATP, in a backpack in his lap when it exploded Oct. 1.

When asked if he believed Hinrichs meant to enter the stadium with the explosives, Mauldin replied, "I don't believe he intended for an explosion to occur at that spot (on the park bench)."

"Some of us will forever wonder what he (Hinrichs) was doing at that time, at that place," Police Chief Phil Cotten said.

Hinrichs was sitting on a park bench 173 yards from the OU stadium during the second quarter of OU's night game against Kansas State when the TATP inside his backpack detonated.

"Someone saw him fiddling with it (the backpack) shortly before the explosion occurred. I think he got cocky, and it went off," Mauldin said.

Hat tip: Mark Tapscott, who writes:

Within hours of Hinrichs death, the FBI's Joint Task Force on Terrorism took over the investigation of the incident. Soon thereafter, both FBI officials and University of Oklahoma President David Boren said Hinrichs had no known terrorist connections and intended only to kill himself.
Despite the official denials, there was substantial evidence at the time of Hinrichs death and in the days thereafter as more was learned about his background and actions during the final year of his life that suggested to others the distinct possibility that Hinrichs was involved in some way with a terrorist activity.

Jason Smith:

So what "spot" was he intending to detonate? That's the million dollar question. He had 2 to 3 pounds of TATP, "the most unstable explosive known and the explosive of choice in the Middle East". Even a small amount can cause an explosion. 2 to 3 pounds. That's quite a bit of "mother of satan" for a lonely kid to use when he decides to "just quit living".

LOL

Not kidding, I make an effort to stay away from places like that.

Last time I went thru Austin the only thing I saw was Kerry signs and stickers.

Was as out of place as a bastard boy at a family reunion.

I agree. What really ticks me off is that this mojo didn't mind our Western education or taking advantage of what life in the US has to offer. What a flaming hypocrite. If Muslim life is so great- Pack your prayer rug and get out!!!

Are they all ticking bombs?

Did you ever run into a dog on the street, that had a look, that if you turned your back, he'd wrap his teeth around one of your legs? That is how "they" look to me. I live in a city and stared down a whole bunch of these satanic pricks after 9/11. They are fairly scarce on the ground these days.

"9 students injured by Mohammad at UNC-CH".

That firecracker in the turban is not comic relief.

Today, in the first violent attack on Americans since Sept. 11

You probably need to spend more time on FR keeping up with the news about the Religon of Peace.
