As the Archer took flight, there followed the Knight,
For he too, called out, “Talisman, Fly!”
And the falcon did race within just one pace
Of the elf, who did not hear his cry.

So the chase was on, and the friends thereupon
Found their archer had hid in the wood,
And as they came in sweeping, they found the elf weeping
Bitter tears as she cast back her hood.

The Knight came gently, softy until he
Sank to one knee by his friend,
Saying, “All is now well, for the truth to tell,
I saved all of us in the end.”

The elf sounded lost, as she replied, “At what cost
Did you purchase my freedom today?
My unworthy life, for your sword, and now strife
Will be inflicted upon all the Fey.”

The Knight, on his knees, said, “Oh dear elf, please
Let me comfort you with this news, so true”,
As he drew forth the sword, with tear-choked word,
“For I have here, both Champion, and you!”

“The magician, that fool, did not know of the rule,
that the one who weaves words is the king,”
said our sorceress Wrenn, who also came to the glen,
“and our Knight also knows this one thing,

“That, all powers start, with a grand noble heart,
and the greatest of all these is love,
for the friend who shares all the trial and dares –
that’s a magic that stands out and above!”

Said the Knight, “Now, you might not think it is true,
and it may make no reason or rhyme,
should it come to this end, my sword or my friend,
my dearest elf I would save every time.”

“And so, now you know: that wherever you go,
There too go your Knight, and the Wrenn,
For with all give and take, it’s all, we’d forsake
For our truest and dearest elf-friend.”

And then, we can quote, came a promise and oath
Sworn on bended knee there, in the glen
As they knelt arm in arm, free from care and from harm,
The Knight, and the Archer, and Wrenn

Placed on the grass between them, a thing that stood for them,
The sword, and an arrow, and the wand,
And their tears that they wept fell upon what they kept,
And worked upon them a magical bond,

And the story goes on, that the three carry on,
Through adventures it winds and it wends
And there shall be further stories of the perils and glories
Of the Knight and the Archer and Friends!
