Do you notice the MSM always has something in the bag to bring out when the President is on an important trip?
@@@@@
Yes, there is a definite pattern. When he was in South America we were consumed with Fitzgerald, Libby, Plame, IIRC
Laura Bush went to Africa for a week, and hardly an American, except Freepers who look at the daily dose, know she was ever there.
Is this the next Dem spin talking point? Barney Frank was on a local (Boston) talk show this morning, arguing that Bush was guilty of "ethnic cleansing by neglect" in NO, because he wasn't putting money into rebuilding poor neighborhoods. This is to further Republican hopes of making NO "richer and whiter" and so more Republican. Frank says he knows this last because Chris Matthews claims to have heard it from a White House source.
(I don't recall exactly, but wasn't there some talk that it would take a couple of years anyway to put in levees that would be effective against a Cat 5? So Frank wants to move people back into the 9th Ward immediately . . . he is concerned that Mary Landrieu won so narrowly twice, and with not enough black voters in NO she might not make it next time.)
Why Frank -- from MA, of course -- considers himself an expert on NO wasn't explained.
I remain bewildered by Bush's refusal to address the Dinosaur Media's endless cascade of lies. He has the resources but seems to have no will to do so.
Why? He must know the damage being done by unanswered lies from the Main Slime Media. Someone help me out here...
I think Bush regards responding to insane charges as beneath him. He sees a potential for getting into a : "Am not!" "Are, too!" "Am not!" "Are, too!" schoolyard spat. There is no value in it.
Bill Sammons on Special Report Without Brit Hume tonight pointed out that right after Katrina only 13% of those asked put the main blame on the federal government. Now people have forgotten all the bonehead decisions by Blanco and Nagin and the question is simply whether Bush deserves all of the blame or if he should share the blame with "Brownie."
That said, the Bush administration from Day One has never seemed to be interested in fighting back against lies and misrepresentations...maybe to distance him from the conduct of the preceding administration which was constantly manipulating the media.
That should have been Bill Sammon, not Sammons.
Brownie is going to be on Fox News Sunday exclusively. I hope he at least mentions the difficulties that he was having getting Blanco to cooperate.
Thank goodness we have Brit Hume to explain the MSM lies!!
