Democrats can capitalize on this dynamic on another matter: energy independence

Uh Rich, it is the democrats who vote against drilling in ANWR.

Well, it was the success of capitalism that lead to Marx.

There was so much money in 19th century England, guys like Karl M could live without working. So he could spend all his time spinning crackpot theories.

The same effect is now present in the US on every college faculty, multiplied a thousand times.

Marx came from a *gasp* WEALTHY FAMILY.

He was a Jew, who hated Jews.

You say that his theories are "crackpot"; yet YOU espouse them. What does THAT make you; dear? LOL

Merely saying isolation is a theoretical possiblity is different from espousing it. And an isolationist society is just as likely to be capitalist as socialist.

The capitalists would just have to work harder to achieve a high standard of living, leaving less left over for profligates and parasites.

No, you are back tacking, now, because you've been boxed in.

I didn't say that what you said about an ISOLATIONIST SOCIETY was MARXIST; rather it was your snippy remark about America/Americans being too rich for their own good.

Please don't put words in my mouth, nor confuse what I have clearly posted.

You've been handily refuted; just bow out now and it'll all go away. :-)

Cool, another Freeper from "da Burgh!" How 'bout dem Steelers? B-) I live West of Pittsburgh "in the Darkside of Moon Township," with apologies to Pink Floyd.

The reasons the Democrats keep losing is they hitch their wagons to things like homosexual marriage, partial birth abortion and other such rabid lefty social ideas. Just look how President Clinton got in, he ran as a moderate and achieved victory.

About the port thing, it is just one other step in how both parties have been giving away our country throughout these years. President Bush, the current one, I rate him as an OK President, I support him on the war on terror and Iraq but he is losing me on economic issues and the port deal is a part of it. Myself, the effort should be put forth to find an American company to run the ports and if that fails, then nationalize them.

I like to listen to 104.7 Mc on the FM dial, although I can't stand Rush anymore, I do think he is a sellout, Michael Savage is my favorite with Glenn Beck a close second and furthermore, I'm a paranormal and UFO junky, George Noory and Art Bell are cool too although holding down a job rations those too but I usually catch George on Fridays and Art on Saturdays. However, Savage is "da man," he out of the plethora of talkshow hosts out there tell the truth and tell it like it is. Glenn is much the same way although he does it a different method. Hannity has a lot of good moments too, he is a bit of a lightweight at times but I'm glad to see that he doesn't let party loyalty get in the way either.

Quinn and Rose are cool too altohugh I thnk Quinn is too much into Ayn Rand, Rose is better to me, she is very religious so I do jive with her more.
