Why don't you ever want her outside of prison? Who do you figure she might harm?

She killed HER OWN children. What makes you think she's not capable of killing someone else's children?

I still think her husband had the most to do with her state of mind. There are all kinds of abuse.

Heaven knows insanity was disreputable enough, long ago; but now that the lawyers have got to cutting every gallows rope and picking every prison lock with it, it is become a sneaking villainy that ought to hang and keep on hanging its sudden possessors until evil-doers should conclude that the safest plan was to never claim to have it until they came by it legitimately.
The very calibre of the people the lawyers most frequently try to save by the insanity subterfuge ought to laugh the plea out of the courts, one would think.

Anyone on this thread that makes excuses for this woman is either uninformed or as sick and evil as she is. Andrea Yates deserves to be put to death for her insidious crimes. Crazy or abused is not an excuse for acts of EVIL!

Agreed and it makes the word "crazy" have less meaning.

There is no room in society for the evil in this woman PERIOD.

I do not understand how one can murder. But to label murderers crazy in an attempt for leniency is well Crazy.

Crazy is not killing ones own 5 children in a horrible evil manner.

the only problem i would have with it is that her husband should go too. he knew she had problems and kept using her as a baby machine.

She gets away with it, because the taxpayer funded hate movement know as women's studies teaches that all women are victim of Patriarchy (an existing male dominated structure in American law, business, etc. that has oppresive power and control over all women).

The National Organization for Women, which is active in most of those programs, if not all, lobbied hard and heavy that Andrea Yates was a victim not responsible for her actions.

She can reject it because some liberal judge will throw her sentence out down the road. If I knew that, I'd be crazy to take a deal from the prosecution. Yates is anything but crazy. She's shrewd.

Bashing Russell Yates was very popular in the media after the crime and I think that shows how femi-nazified the media and America has become.

You may not be aware, but your theory does fit perfectly in with what is taught in liberal gender feminist programs on college campuses across America.

Women's Studies teaches that all women are victims of the oppression of heterosexual men (Patriarchy), and even that all heterosexual relations are oppressive to women.

Would you get a grip? Yates was a nutcase. Her husband had been told that repeatedly. She'd been hospitalized and drugged for her looniness. Her husband had a responsibility to his kids and to his wife. He failed on both counts. Blaming the "feminazis" just makes you look silly and petty. They also don't want any accountability or responsibility for the actions of their members.

My mother was six years old when she was adopted out with seven others of her siblings. The reason? Her mother had met a man (not her husband) who said she had to make a choice, him or the kids. She got rid of all but two of the kids.

35 years isn't enough. Crazy or not, why should she ever see freedom again? I don't think she should. She IS guilty regardless of anything else that can be said by her or her lawyers.
