I care no more about the love life of homosexuals than I do about the mating habits of aardvarks or why female praying mantises bite the heads off their male suitors. If it wasn't so long, I would make it a tagline.

In my experience, gays don't think like straights do. They're in a totally different world in their desires, their thinking, their reactions and their very being. No matter what laws are passed or what additional "rights" are claimed, the gay life is fundamentally at odds with straight experience. I do not feel comfortable in their world.DITTO!
That said, I respect liberty and the freedom for a person to decide how they choose to live.
God granted us the freedom of choice, and any human that prevents another person from this, is in violation of God's most important law.
Each and every one of use has the freedom of choice, but we are all responsible for the results of our actions.
Without personal responsibility, there can be no individual freedom!

"You haven't lived until you've had Thanksgiving dinner with a bunch of lesbians who offer thanks to a "higher power", and after the meal, go outside to play football. Surreal." I nominate your for the funniest saying that I have heard all night. I know exactly what you are talking about, and that is why it is so funny.

If pedophiles can be cured, why is homosexuality forever?
Given that homos have a much higher propensity to be pedophiles that sure does pose a dillema for the pointy heads. ( And by that I meant the academics what were you thinking ? )

My speculation is that straights, even in their silence on the issue, still regard homosexuality as wrong, deviant and against nature. And "icky". The writer left that one out.

What straights think about gays?
I don't until they make it literally impossible to ignore them.

As tempting as indifference may be, I cannot be indifferent when individuals act in such a way as to harm themselves.
No serious Christian believes that homosexual conduct is anything but sinful. To be indifferent to a person committing sin is not to love them as Jesus commanded.

You see ?
If "Brokeback Mountain" had been made starring Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson it might have been a blockbuster.

I feel as though you are either gay or your not. No in between.
So called bi-sexuals would disagree with you, but I just think they are greedy.

Just start a discussion with them about how you believe homosexuality is wrong and you'll see that pleasant exterior is just a very thin veneer.

Yes, I thought of the same thing and I hated that movie more than any movie I've ever seen - and I'm talking as a MST3K fan here. The MST3K movies were amusingly bad, but that movie was just bad.

The lesbian women tended to be better adjusted and were far more pleasant. They didn't have that lingering bitterness that lies just below the surface of gay men's persona.Maybe, but they are extremely tense and nervous. I think with both genders it is an extreme anxiety disorder.

To: Joe 6-pack; Philistone; Dr. Thorne
I agree with Joe 6-pack's post about the similarities between homosexual behavior and other addictions.
Philistone, the lisping and affectations you mentioned may seem "real"; however, recent brain studies done to help stroke victims and others with brain injuries have also turned up the findings that when a person repeats a behavior often enough, the parts of the brain that initiate that behavior begin to enlarge. So you can literally change yourself by acting gay, or by acting straight. Not that it's easy -- I'm sure it is complex in either direction.
I agree with Dr. Thorne's earlier post that many of the gay people he knew in the arts, and many that I have known in the arts also, confided that they suffered traumatic child rape or seduction.
It's not that they said, "This is why I'm gay" -- the ones I knew did not seem to draw the connection. Their denial and their parents' denial kept them from getting help while they were still young. But it's never too late.

Given that homos have a much higher propensity to be pedophiles . . .Not true. They have a higher propensity to be pederasts - post-teenagers are their targets. For pedophiles (pre-teenagers), they can be homo or straight, and go after boys or girls. Pederasts are almost always men who go after almost exclusively.
