Sorry guy...gun porn is on Friday, or possibly Thursday if connected to some real world application, then running through the weekend.
Try to keep up, will ya :^>

Haven't seen this model, but my Springfield 1911 is the best .45 I've fired, and the M-1A is a superb rifle.

I believe the XD .45 has the new slide coating. I enjoy my XD-40 (ported 4" barrel), but the slide coating is... well, I've grown spoiled by my Glocks.
I'm watching the reviews to see if the new coating is as durable as the Glock and, hopefully, carries over to the rest of the XD family.

It's not the prettiest gun in the world, but I can't take my eyes off of it. It's kind of blocky, but it fits real nice in my hands.

Thanks, I was also looking at the SOCOM 16 model, but that's quite a few pay checks away.

It's kind of blocky, but it fits real nice in my hands. A good fit is important. You can drive yourself crazy trying to gain proficiency with a "better" gun if it doesn't fit your hand.

I'm partial to the bi-toned .45 myself. May have to go out and buy a gun this weekend.
Interestingly, that scissor-type trigger safety may be a detracting feature. I've not heard good things about those, as Glock has it perfected and patented (if I'm not mistaken).

This is not a 1911 derived design, but an import from Croatia that is more along the lines of a Glock. IMHO the barrel is to high from the grip/trigger and this causes too much muzzle flip with full power loads. A lower mounted barrel causes the pistol to recoil straight back in the hand for faster sight recovery for subsequent shots. Also something in 40 S&W is a better choice for compactness and lethality.

The .40 is a natural point for me. I'll have to look into this one even though I'm not a fan of the .45.
I know, I know. Blasphemy.

Does anyone know of a brass cased .45 ACP Snake Shot round?
To: gridlock
It looks bigger in the picture on the website, but it's actually a bit smaller than I expected. It fits real nice. I don't have the largest frame hands, so the feel of it is important. It didn't look like it would be too big for concealed carry either. And, if you buy it new it comes with an XD holster that looks almost like a Yaqui style holster.
