Thanks for the 9-11 thread - first I've seen it. Like living it all over again. Amazing.
Did you know her?
You can go to church all you want it doesn't make you saved.
Do you know that she wasn't?
Can you?
Yes I can. But apparently you can't or you are too much of a cabbage head to figure out what I just said since you then asked me a question I had already addressed. I am through talking with you.
If I'm lucky.
Everybody is missing the point here. The fact is it does not matter if you are in McDonalds or a house of worship. Who amongst the bloggers actually live in the city limits of Detroit? 'Detroit area' is not a Detroiter.
Nearly 2 million people lived in Detroit in the 1950s; today it has fewer than 900,000. According to the Census Bureau, more than a third of those people lived at or below the federal poverty line in 2004, the largest percentage of any U.S. city with a population of 250,000 or more.
Detroit's 2005 unemployment rate was 14.1 percent, more than 2 1/2 times the national level.
Detroit, which logged 374 homicides last year, consistently ranks at or near the top of an annual list of the most dangerous cities compiled by Morgan Quitno Press.
There were 4 more fatalities in Iraq/Afghanistan in Janurary of 2006 than murders in the city of Detroit.
So it should not catch us by surprise that something like this happened in a house of worship?
No, nor anywhere else in Detoilet.
Correct. There were at least a 1/2 dozen of these in 2005. The most bizarre one was during a funeral in a house of worship where the mother and brother of the deceased had a shootout with the family of the alleged perpatrators. Everyone was 'packing'. That incident left 3 dead. This is routine stuff around here.
Wow. Guess now I understand the "Why is this in Breaking" Keyword above.
No, actually, Michigan is full of guns. Not hard to get or keep or carry at all.
Whew!! calm down folks I doubt very much that saved or not the woman wouldnt want you fighting over her..wherever she is now I am sure she thinks life is way to short to spend any minute of it sparing with words. Let us instead pray for that poor baby who is without a momma!!
This just demonstrates that crime is no big deal here. Those that survive don't make headline statistics-----
A school janitor was shot Friday outside a school on Detroit's west side in what officials fear is a worsening crime spree targeting school employees.
The shooting marks the 30th armed robbery at a building in the district this school year.
As of Feb. 14, there were 15 armed robberies and 14 unarmed robberies at Detroit high schools since school started in the fall, while middle and elementary schools accounted for 14 armed robberies and four unarmed robberies, according to Detroit school police officials.
So you see, it doesn't matter where you are.
Michigan schools are an unarmed victim area.
The criminals know there is no hazard to them.
That was my first thought actually. Wherever the woman is is where she is. My thought was, what would possess a person to march into a church and take a baby's momma from him or her? Sounds like the Baby was hurt too. Wicked world we live in.
Guess I should have got my statue book out before I commented. So how many of those churches, synagogues, mosques, etc. leaders, priests, rabbis, imams do you suppose are granting permission to carry firearms on the premises? Maybe the Muslims, but not many of the rest. De Jure, you're right, de facto, I'm closer to right than wrong.
I agree with your assessment.
I just came on here...was this a Catholic Church and someone shot and killed someone?? During Mass? Sorry, but I read several posts and can't get this info...thanks.
Card. Maida closed most of the Catholic churches in Detroit down. This was a garage.
