Curious how no one pointed out to Bruce that the Defecit was both bigger in absolute terms and as a % of GDP under Reagan then it has been under Bush. But that right, for the old Reaganites, the facts do matter just how they remember the era is all that matters. Reagan was either the greatest, or close to being the greatest, President we have ever had. He was NOT god. He had his failures as well as his triumphs.

Absolutely.  He picked his battles and he picked the right battles to fight.  And those he won. 

That's exactly what I think GWB is doing.  Too many people are willing to lose the war on terror in order to maintain some kind of ideological purity.  It kinda makes ideology moot if you and everyone you care about is dead.  President Bush seems to understand that.

Right now I put Reagan and Bush both in the top 5 Presidents.
