I am calling my congressman...let us all do our part to oppose this...
Here's a helpful tip:
Before starting another great whine and panic-fest, you MIGHT want to, possibly, conceivably, maybe, find another source for this story other than Islamonline quoting an unnamed Russian Newspaper. The SOLE source of the story on the entire internet seems to be this story.
Not that anybody is going to listen to me. Oh well.

When is this madness going to stop.
No more, stop it now.
Specter wants to bring in 500,000 more immigrants to take American jobs.
Stop it now.

How many al-Qaeda sympathizers will there be in this group?
Probably zero.
To: Imnotalib
Izvestia said the Russian government does not treat Ahiska Muslims as citizens and has not therefore given them passports or IDs. Oh, the poor dears. We'll make them citizens, show the entire Islamic world how "compassionate" we are, and win countless "hearts and minds" in the process. Brilliant WOT strategy.

Barf first, verify later. =))

The United States has agreed to grant citizenship to 7,000 Ahiska Muslims who will be settled in Pennsylvania, reported a Russian newspaper on Friday, July 23. I would imagine that they would have to go through some type of naturalization process and not just granted.
To: Strategerist
Too many people on FR are the knee jerk reactionary types who will believe every single thing they read, especially if it fits their agenda.
Proof is not required to get a good rant going on FR.

Bush must be down to his very last supporter. I now question even his loyalty to this country.

July 24, 2005 ?
It's actually from July 24, 2004
Now comes the fun part where the series of outraged replies from people that skim the first few sentences of the original post and don't read any of the replies just keeps going on and on and on.
To: COEXERJ145
The most interesting thing is just HOW MUCH people ENJOY being outraged.

I hope you're right, but I think the odds are drastically against it.
Statistics show that among foreign Muslims, a large percentage believe crazy things like the CIA and the Jews were responsible for 9-11. Many of them, if not a majoriy, believe that either we were responsible for the tsunami that hit Indonesia, or Allah did it to punish the area (despite the fact that far more Muslims were killed than Christians).

I'll call too but Boxer and Feinstein are my Senators.

"Remember, the alternatives were Al Gore and John Kerry, making Bush the best choice by far."
Oh, I know; I voted for the man twice because of those alternatives, but that is small consolation right now.
