No, I did not paint you as a DUmmy..just you are reading out of the same "playbook". Ah.. what about our airport gates that now are leased by the Chinese and other countries? The Chinese could not be a threat? And we have sold weapons to the Taliban?(times change). The Japanese were our enemy, so were the Germans.

The Unions "are worried" is another scenario. There will be although there will be a changing of the "Executive Guard" and not the high priced "baggage handlers". Who do the Unions control? The Democrats! The Dems + Unions + Dem's Mission to Scare the People = BS.

When is all said and done, the UAE needs us and our business along with our allies as much as we need them. Our dependency on oil will be diminished, as we have been finally hit over the head with the " come-into-reality baseball bat"; therefore good entrepreneurs are already thinking ahead. Is all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Become a scared isolationist and see where that gets you. The Chavez comparison I, personally, find very lame; and not the same apples..not even an orange in the same gift basket from Harry & David.

The Detroit Press articles offered concerns, as well which sided with your camp of reasoning to show you are not alone in your suspect of this purchase of US ports. So the Detroit Press is not an enemy of the "sully777 think-tank" consortium.

I believe our ports will be safer. I suspect much updating as well logically thinking which the Brits cannot afford to do; therefore, the sale of all the ports involved not just here. Security is still in the hands of the United States. Til there is credible facts besides political rhetoric by those that were not in the loop and feel SO left out so clam-mer for the "cameras" (Hi, Mom!); and those that always place knee jerk reactions before careful study except for "-the sky is fallin' the sky is fallin'", I will keep my same sense of reasoning as expressed.

Will tell you this. Intel has to be highly capable outside this country so that WMD's do not even reach our ports or our airplanes. In as much as anyone can bring WMD's into this country on a hijacked pleasure yacht for example, there is no need to spend billions (read Memorial Day by Vince Flynn-novel to understand my reasoning.)on purchasing said ports.

Do you have the names of those on the committee that passed this deal without reservations (unanimous) and their political persuasion? They had to know this would be a "political" firestorm and did not find it "logical" to alert the now "blindsided" President, Rummy, Rice and others before passage? Many unanswered questions come into play in the latter mentioned questions I have raised regarding the research given in finalizing their decisions. I also see where the UAE have no disagreement with further study and are not placing any pressure on a "quick" signature to sign on or off on their buyout. They will continue with the buyouts of the other ports outside this country where there has been no "political" firestorm of "political" controversy.

Sidenote: I would be interested as well to hear from shipping companies within the US like Appollo (NJ) which ships all over the world out of several ports in the US. They ship cars everyday to other ports of entry as well as boats, and other mechanics, etc. I would rather read their "business and security related" opinions not those of some "political hack" or "MSM puppet".

Respect your opinion and have only offered mine in response.
