For anyone to pretend the UAE princes are choir boys is ridiculous.

They are knee deep in supporting terrorist groups.

This whole fabricated non-crisis port issue has been built on the premise that a lie repeated often enought becomes truth.

True enough. Yet this time I think the REAL truth has a chance to prevail. We're seeing a shift here at this forum, and while we're some of the most politically attuned individuals in the country, we're not without some influence, not just at this forum but in the places where we interact with others.

Some columnists are issuing more reasoned pieces. I think the initial hysteria will be replaced by a more rational discussion and, in the end, people will be satisfied that there is no increased danger.

We'll see.

Well, those prophecies weren't meant for them anyway- I doubt they understood completely what they were seeing. But did they see symbols, or real-time futuristic events, or a combo of the two? Maybe a little of both.

My point being this-- does this port deal, spiritually, in your gut- give you the willy's? It does me. And we are commanded to "watch" over and over again in the Bible. These passages may involve us. I hope they don't. Even so, I thought I'd put them out there for people to read and decide for themselves. The literal city of Babylon, in Iraq, has no seaport, so I assume it is another major port.

I think we have to be flexible on matters of prophecy, so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Hong Kong is a bigger port. So is Singapore. You gotta watch it with the whole prophesy from Scripture thing and projecting it forward.

Taiwan, for that matter, might fit the bill nicely after the Chinese decide to do a number on it.

We will prevail because people like you aren't taking this lying down and are disputing this deliberate campaign of misinformation with the truth.

Keep up the great work.

Or about how many think this was some "secret". Or that the deal was "secret" when it's a public company and you can find the deal on the P&O web site.

"Not Secret" isn't the same as even moderately well publicized. The President apparently didn't know about it. He gets a daily briefing. Why should most of the rest of us have been aware of it?

Not as sad as how many media outlets said "6" because that's what Chuck Schumer said.

If Old Lizard Face said the sun rose this morning, I'd look outside to check.

Oh, yes, they were meant for them as much as us. In fact, many of them needed to hear it more since the church didn't have the kind of support we have today. And they may not have understood completely but neither do we.

The fact that Babylon was mentioned, yet it wasn't a seaport strengthens my belief that John was speaking of commerce in general, not necessarily the sea.

In answer to your question, no the port deal does not give me the willies. In fact, I would have the willies if it was rejected. I'm grateful for the UAE...without their and other allies' help we'd have a LOT more trouble in the WOT. I think President Bush has his eye on the ball. Have a good day!

It takes a team effort to counter the Old Media and their buddies, the Rats.

This has been fascinating to watch.

Bilda....

If'n they lay waste to these ports how about we just continue to use those ports where the Saudis have facilities?... okay.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1584235/posts

Reckon why these people would make this huge investment and then destroy and lay waste to the country that is the largest user of their export?... I don't think they can use all that sand they have underfoot over there. Do you reckon they expect to lay waste and destroy the US and then have a homeland to live in?

Are you any kin to the bildaburger group?

That's a fine point-- but the reason I assume the U.S. is mentioned here is because the U.S. is not mentioned in prophecy, and it seems strange that God would leave out deliberately the most powerful nation the world has ever seen-- unless, by the time of the end, we aren't even a factor. So many people see the U.S. being "taken out" before history is wrapped up.

Some have speculated the the Rapture itself may be the reason why the U.S. is not mentioned. In one moment, our best people in government, the military. industry- will disappear in a flash. The U.S. may not be able to survive after that. The EU, on the other hand, probably won't notice the rapture has taken place- ha
But I think it will cripple us, and leave us open for attack.

22 ports will be controlled by A-Rabs now? The toll goes up, will they be controlling ferry terminals and day cruise slips. How about the submarine ride at Disney World?

Good day to you too- it's not the UAE that frightens me as much as the people that can infiltrate and subvert them. There's a reason why many of the hijackers for 9-11 came through there. It is only going to take one man, who is under the control of the islamofascists to cause horrible damage. These days, being a little paranoid is an asset.

Ugh.. More confusion and misinformation.

The President KNEW ABOUT THE DEAL. He knew it was going through the review process.

This has been totally twisted and maligned by the media and spread by the dingbat TV commentators.

He wasn't told it was approved until later. There are HUNDREDS of these deals every year that go through the review process and are approved. You think the first thing that done when it's approved, is a phone call to the President??

This "President didn't know" hogwash is among the more frustrating aspects over this entire ridiculous episode.

Chuck Schumer lives about two miles from a shipping terminal

%%%

And his wife, who goes by her maiden name, is a high official in the operation of something to do with New York ports. She was carefully screened from public blame in the ferry accident that killed a number of people a few years ago.

He is just a mouthpiece for unions.

2 of the hijackers went through there.

More than half a dozen hijackers did all their planning in Germany. You want to cut off all ties with them?

Do you want to stop allowing UAE Airliners flying into this country?? They've been coming in for years, where's your outraged? Couldn't a terrorist infiltrate the UAE airplane easier?

Just complete nonsense fueled by the racism of the left, with members on the right getting sucked right into the joke.

Don't you just love it when people take verses out of context.

They seemed to have left out a previous verse 10: "Woe, woe the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgement has come."

I wonder if there is a "Babylon" USA, and if so, does it have a port, LOL!

I never said they were rational. These are the same people who think it's okey dokey to strap bomb belts on their daughters and send them off to a deli. They're not real "forward-thinking". :)

Schumer's wife, Iris Weinshall, is in charge of the Staten Island Ferry as New York City's Transportation Commissioner.
