Somehow, I can't help put believe that NO mayor Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin, disagrees with those three councilmembers. He NEEDS the "soap opera watchers" if he is to be re-elected - an act that would defy both logic and good sense.
Finally, common sense.
Not exactly racism, more like culturalism. Work is foreign to many of that culture they just like the race card.
Man they ain't be watchin' Soaps. It's Price is Right! Then go down to Liquor Store to cash a check get some cigarettes, a six pack, and some lottery tickets. Then back home to rest. It ain't easy being disabled.
The "R" words aong liberal blacks. Republican.
Very good article.
So what is Houston to do with this useless Rabble that has descended on them?
Certainly I agree with the article. No city wants its trash back, but it leaves Houston and other cities in the pickle of absorbing this garbage ,along with what garbage they already had.
No good deed goes unpunished, Sorrowfully ,Atlanta and Houston are finding that out.
Work? They couldn't even walk 60 miles to Baton Rouge to escape a hurricane! It was either the government provided them transportation or they'd just stay where they were and bitch about everything. Now people want them to work!? Hell, they cannot even keep the trash picked up in front of the government provided housing they live in, a government employee has to come around and do that for them. WORK!? You have got to kidding!
Republican as in...
Lynn Swann running for Governor of Pennsylvania
Michael Steele running for Senate in Maryland
Ken Blackwell running for Governor of Ohio
and some others I've heard of here at FR.
Slowly, but surely blacks in this country are breaking the shackles of liberal democRAT economic slavery. It will take time, but it is happening. The more conservative black role models that blacks see in elected office around the country the more encouraged they will become to take the leap of faith to the side of freedom & liberty.
The bondage from democRAT economic slavery for blacks in this country didn't happen overnight and the journey away from the dark side won't either.
You racist!
From what I have been reading Nagin is starting to get the "chocolate" city he wants, only it may not be the shade of chocolate he wanted, with the influx of illegal aliens into New Orleans to take the decent paying jobs that the evacuees apparently don't want.
I wouldn't be able to walk 60 miles either but I damn sure would have found a way out without depending on government to do it for me.
When government "gimmies" are all you know, that's what you rely on.
Well, I know not everyone can walk 60 miles. Some of the the ones I saw standing in New Orleans yelling, "Where's my ride out of here" sure could have!
I heard a news story on the radio yesterday (don't recall the program) that related an experience the reporter had this week in NOLA. Said that some residents had returned to begin the clean-up of their homes. He said when they walked down the street, several came out grinning and asking if they were from FEMA. When the answer was no- they turned rather upset and said "it figures"...
So I guess these folks have determined that it is the Federal Government's total and exclusive responsibility to clean-up and rebuild their homes.
Whatever happened to having insurance and being responsible for your own stuff? Ugh.
I guess if our house is ever blown away by a tornado (we live in an area fairly well known for such), I should stand by waiting for FEMA to clean-up and rebuild (even if I have insurance to cover it)....And I should sit back and just expect to live in a hotel for several months at no charge to me, while I wait.... IT's only FAIR... And I have likely paid far more in taxes than many of those slugs form NOLA.... so that makes it "double fair"....hehehe.
At last, somebody is telling the truth - not that it wasn't obvious to anybody with a pair of eyes.
If I (little ol' paleface me) said it, it would be racist. Since the speaker of the words was of minority status, it slides.
