See we look like a bunch of idiots!

I agree. -- This knee jerk hysteria has made the Congress, pundits and the media look like fools who can't be trusted to make a rational argument or decision.

Dubai is our friend. General Franks says so, along with every other serving Military leader that has spoken on the subject.

We do not turn our back on friends, and we do not screw our friends. I agree with you about most of the ME governments, but we will maintain friendly relations with those that have proved themselves worthy. We need them, and they NEED us.

Best line in the article:
This coming from a Liberal Senator, “Our problem is Vancouver is rife with organized crime”
Kinda figures a Librano$ crime family member is going to know of what he speaks on this topic.
H'mmmm ... "turf war" brewing ??? (.... snicker!)

Amazing how this sort of hilarious irony pops up in the darnedest places, eh?

Republicans care about security in this deal while the dems hidden agenda is to kill free trade.

Republicans care about getting re-elected; that's why they jumped offsides condemning this transfer.

We know the Democrats don't care about national security, except as a campaign issue.

But for the GOP members of Congress to be so craven, to leave only Joe Liebermann and John McCain as defenders of this is embarrassing.

The rest of the world is laughing at the scaredy-cats in the United States and our ability to be reliable business partners on the world stage.

What if the UAE wanted to buy a chain of BBQ Restaurants in the South East?

Or the Essex House hotel in New York. Ooops, they already own that.

What are you worried about? That they're going to poison all their customers?

Thanks for the ping. Looks like our news outlet here got it wrong.

I wouldn't be that harsh on them - it's entirely possible that DP World was already in, just under a different subsidiary, different role, etc. And, also that DP World is about to expand its role in Vancouver via the purchase of companies under P&O's umbrella.
