The mysterious Iraqi cargo ships laden with WMDs was bogus. Amazing how these stories gather momentum? Who started reporting on it in the first place?

I wasn't saying you were. It was aimed at all the experts around here claiming Iraq had no WMDs. It's the NY Times mantra as well as a fair number of freepers, apparently (not you)

There were indeed ships circling for days. Whether they had WMDs is another story.

Would be interesting to see who it was. I'll wager the Corner on NRO, an assumption on Weekly Standard, something from WorldNetDaily or DEBKA (as if there's a difference between the two), or a passing what if note by a talking head on Fox. Of course that's just a guess but it would be about as good as any

Ah...you were elaborating, not contesting. :)

If it isn't in the NY TImes, it doesn't count as news?

No but there are more sources than the 5 I named, of which 3 have dropped the subject altogether as there is no proof. Only WND is still really carrying water for a myth

"It was a report from the Intel conference, not Pat Robertson's editorial. ... his publications reporting is more accurate than the MSM."

Absolutely lucid and correct. Bravo!

P.S.
Did you know?
U.S. unemployment = 4.7%
Federal Government surplus (yes, surplus) in January = $21Billion.

This has been news to the people with whom I have spoken. This is just some of the news that has been censored by the main stream media (MSM). If it takes Pat Robertson, Joseph Farah, Matt Drudge, or Jim Robinson to get the news out that the New York Times and others deem unfit to report, then I think we all owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. In this case, hooray to Pat Robertson.

"organizations that can't hold a candle to the accuracy of the NY TImes"

Has the NY Times come out yet with a report on Stalin's holocausts? Perhaps they've run a retraction on the Walter Duranty articles that denied the orchestrated famine in the Ukraine in 1932-33. They received the Pulitzer prize for that instance of Holocaust denial. Have they turned it back yet? If so, maybe they are worth a read.

"No one remembers the claim we didn't safeguard these various elements of a nuclear program, when we invaded?"

Yes. I remember. It was kind of funny. "No WMDs - impeach Bush." Followed soon after by "Bush didn't safeguard the WMDs - impeach Bush."

It reminded be of Monica playing with the MSM. She would appear to cooperate with Starr and the story became "She's a stalker - no man can say no." Then she would appear to confront Starr and the story became "Poor Monica, she's being picked on." Then back to "she's a stalker," then "Poor Monica." She managed to treat the News industry like a yo yo. I don't suppose it was intentional, but it was hilarious. Can you imagine the confusion in the news room. What's the spin today?

And let's not forget the 20 or so fighter jets buried in the sand. Thank God for that windstorm!

Who knows what else is buried in the sand? Remember it's a California sized country. Doubt the grid of the whole nation has been walked yet.

Why I certainly question the authority of WND, I do know some of the best reporters work for the Weekly Standard and Nat. Review. WND is the conservative mirror of the NYTimes, just slightly more accurate.

And what were those Russians doing skidaddling out of country when we "accidentally" hit their caravan?

Don't hold your breath waiting for the New York Times apologies. I find it ironic this news breaks just as the Times building is on fire. Its an arresting visual metaphor for the state of the MSM today.
