Dear Mr. President,

You know you've screwed up when Jimmy Carter supports you.

That's gonna leave a mark.

I've been concerned about this from the first time I've heard about it. On the surface it doesn't sound good. Either we have a president who is willing to sell us down the river, or there is more to it than first appears.

I agree, if Jiminy Carter is for it it must be bad. But since he's breaking ranks with Hillary and Schmucky, maybe the dems are trying to do a head fake with Bush.

Since Jiminy and Klinton did as much as they could to sell us out, I doubt there is much more Bush could do.

Since Carter and Klinton have already proved themselves enemies of this country, either you assume the best and assume Bush is for this country. Or you live in dread and assume he's as bad or worse. So far his track record has been much better than the two previously mentioned.

"Will the Bush-bots line up with Carter on this one, or is there a limit to their sycophancy?"

I was wondering the same thing.

This is just like when Dingy Harry endorsed the Meyers nomination--a perfect kiss of death.

I'd been pretty non-committal about this whole fracas.

With Carter supporting it, though, that's enough to convince me there's something fishy about the ports deal. Horsefeathers!

Your proposition may be good
But let's have one thing understood --
Whatever it is, I'm against it!
And even when you've changed it or condensed it,
I'm against it.

:-)

I don't care if the company is owned by the Canadian government. Government-owned companies should not be involved in running our ports.

Dubai may very well be a friendly country today, but what about tomorrow?

It is the perfect opportunity for the Dems to gain ground on national security matters. I keep asking myself, "What the hell are they thinking?" No Arabs at our ports, shut down our borders!

Doesn't really matter the Teamsters Union has threatened to strike if the deal goes thru.

I am sure all those hysterics feel soo much better now.

1980 presidential election: Reagan 489 electoral votes, 44 states; Carter 49 electoral votes, 6 states.
Like the Clintons, we've heard what Jimbo has to say, and like liver and spinach, we said "No, thank you!" . . .

Go away Carter!

'The overall threat to the United States and security, I don't think it exists,''...

Astonishingly, breathtakingly, utterly stupid. Both for Jimmah and GWB. The naivete of this statement, this attitude, is absolutely staggering.
