various 9/11 family members also joining in opposing this.

this is a political disaster for the administration, and they are twiddiling their thumbs as it drags on day after day.

No, I don't "get" people who feel like they need to tear down a dead hero in the hope that it will make themselves look better. It doesn't work.

I don't get people who feel the need to make up strawman fallacies.

Dubai Ports International bought early last year when it paid US$1.15 billion for the global assets of United States rail giant CSX Corp. It acquired the international terminal business conducted by CSX World Terminals. CSX World Terminals is a leading international container terminal developer and operator with operations in Asia , Europe , Australia and Latin America.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't John Snow the former CEO of CSX Corp.?

Doesn't all this fall under the jurisdiction of the Treasury Department?

House GOP Leaders Line Up Against UAE Port Deal

Not sure if they are against it. But they certainly are concerned enough that they want to investigate it.

Anyway, it won't get that far.

The president will not allow the lease of the terminal.

"We were called sexist elitists on Harriet Miers, wonder what names we'll be called for opposing this one?"

I've seen "xenophobic" thrown about....

She doesn't scare me. Except for the sword thing. A little.

there is precious little time left for him to make that decision, and still save this thing politically.

I suspect that there will be some sort of unamed problem and Dubai will have to regretfully pullout.

As far as I'm concerned, there'd better be. I do not like this at all, no matter how it's spun.

One of which is that Bush may not have the power under currently existing law to stop this sale.

PLEASE check post 77

The President DOES have the power to shut this down under CIFUS.

Well gee I guess CAIR would change their tune if they knew that the UAE has Christian churches.

If so then either the the Singapore firm or Hong Kong(chicomm) firm will probably make a bid.

Be careful with your wishes they may come true.

41 democrats can stop any bill or judge.

How come 41 republicans couldn't when the dems were in power?

Maybe Dane is too. Several have asked if he's an American and he won't answer.
