"LOL! You've just given the folks at DU a reason to live today! "

Too late on that, their front page top story is that they can prove V.P. Cheney was drunk when he shot that guy, and then had more to drink later to cover it up.

One of the VP's Secret Service agents could stare at Whittington and slide his finger across his throat.

Disclaimer: It's a JOKE! :-)

Which, of course, will raise MORE questions with the press. "Is he too drunk to take questions?"

I think Mr. Whittington could calm things down by buying the press corps a round of drinks before his statement.

Thankee kindly for the ping Howlin. Is Whittington going to be wearing an orange stocking cap and crossing-guard vest?

Well, that's the way the White House Clerks Corps like to portray him, so I'm sure they'll run with it!

Every third sentence of his statement should be:

"This statement is brought to you by Budweiser, the King of Beers--you insufferable pricks!"

It's a prepared statement, from what those up the thread are saying. We may not even get to see him.

I am reasonably sure that Whittington will make a firm but gentlemanly statement laying out the facts and implicitly daring anyone to question HIS integrity as the victim in this. He is a lawyer, an elderly gentleman and a Texan. He will know how to conduct himself, unlike Gregoire and the Washingon Stuck on Stupid Corps.

>I must need to get a life because this is making me unreasonably happy

.... there is always an afterlife if this is not satisfactory to you.

Kidding with you ............... Mr. Whittington will bury the knife into the liberal media soon enough.

Poll: No Need For More Investigation Of Cheney Shooting

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Two-thirds of voters nationwide say there is no need for a further investigation into Vice President Dick Cheney's shooting of a hunting partner during a visit to a Texas ranch last weekend, a poll reported Friday.

The poll, from Marist College's Institute for Public Opinion and sponsored by WNBC-TV in New York City, also found that 66 percent of voters said they were bothered by the Bush administration's handling of Hurricane Katrina. That was of more concern to voters than the administration's use of warrantless domestic surveillance (50 percent), the indictment of Cheney aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby (50 percent) and the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal (40 percent).

When it came to Cheney's Saturday shooting of Harry Whittington, 34 percent of voters said they wanted a further investigation while 65 percent said that wasn't needed. Democrats
