I don't think they're abhorrent, but they are unreasonable. We should not be treating prisoners this way. However, I think the best way to handle this is internally. It's not necessary for the public to see the pictures, just as many pictures are kept from the public in the case of abuse or violent crimes. Deal appropriately with the guilty parties and that's the end of it.
The only reason to publish those photos is to imflame the passions of the already crazed terrorists.

...if these prisoners were involved in the killing or maiming of our troops I have no sympathy for the scum.
They'd definitely be deserving of punishment in that case.

Hmmmm... these pictures resurface to suck up the news oxygen while ABC prepares to air the Saddam tapes... coincidence?

My deal is that torture is a useful device to get info. I don't think these clowns were doing it for intelligence purposes, otherwise they wouldn't be taking pictures
This episode was just stupid and useless behavior.

These aren't new. They're from 2004. They're just newly released. But the terrorist-emboldening slimeball media will continue to misrepresent these as if they were from last week. Spare me.

"This is truly American ugliness that no other country in the world can compete with," journalist Saleh al-Humaidi told Reuters in Yemen. Apparently he wasn't watching Al Jazeera when they showed the various beheading tapes, not to mention people clinging to the outside of the World Trade Center trying to escape the flames, only to jump or fall to their deaths. And that's not even touching on honor killings and gang raping young women to punish their families. The United States wouldn't even make it to the finals in an world "ugliness" contest.

Maybe if these American troops had just been shouting "Allahu Akbar!" at the time, it would have been different?

Maybe muslims will get mad, riot, burn their cities and murder one another?

Shi* I didn't see any heads come off.

This episode was just stupid and useless behavior. Not useless--useful. Useful to our enemies, that is...

The news reports I heard on the radio earlier today led me to believe they were a whole new incident... right until the end of the report when they say the pictures were taken in 2003. Accident? Sure...

Uhm...there was a warning for graphic images.
Did not see any unless you were referring to the Jesse Jackson close up.

Exactly. They're all using the same adjective, "new" to create the deception that these are RECENT photos, rather than NEWLY RELEASED. But unfortunately most of the sheep out there aren't bright enough to grasp the distinction and that's what the MSM is counting on. This is all part and parcel of the media's relentless attempt to do-in the Bush administration and to ensure a Democratic victory in November. Funny they waited until the election year to release them isn't it? These people have to be exposed for what they are and stopped!

I'm not saying they aren't there, but I have never seen pictures of the more than carnage of the area where people exploded when they hit the ground after jumping out. That may be because none exist or whomever has them believes nobody in their right mind would want to see them. The press ought to be showing them to the world. I'm just saying those moos did that and celebrated. Plus bad things probably go on in their prisons, too.
To: iPod Shuffle
The program reports that some prisoners at Abu Ghraib were killed when U.S. soldiers ran out of rubber bullets trying to quell a riot at the jail and resorted to using live rounds.MSM Distortion Lesson #1--If the "killing" came in the midst of a riot, don't mention that in the headline or sub-head--just say "Soldiers killed prisoners"
Unbelievable!

our Folks that came off the WTC impacted with a haunting sound...before the Networks cut and forgot the scene. And make no mistake, no matter their origin, they ALL are OUR Folk by virtue of having been there.
Just as We now recognize the Gallant Danes by saying, "Today We Are All Danes", We must in equal measure never forget Our Folks that have fallen...
