His cap is on, but he is throwing away the batting helmet.

You know, I always assumed Mantle has just thrown away his batting helmet after maybe striking out and he's headed towards the dugout. But maybe I'm wrong.

The problem that I find these days is too many knock off artists "painting" a copy of sports photos and selling them through galleries and sport card shows. Some photographers have sued the painters for violating their copyright.
Oh yeah, I've seen some of them unfortunately.

I always get a kick out of seeing portraits like this for sale at vendor's stands inside the malls.

Thoughtful posts from both of you. When I get a few more minutes, hopefully today, I want to touch on the Art vs. Craft concept. Great thread, though.

Well if it increases the tax base, the Rats are for changing it. But if it is in their backyard and spoils the view then they are again' it.

This one is worth a minimum $2.9 million.

I have a friend who is involved in the Warhol estate. Those crummy things go for millions. "Shot Marilyn" is priceless.
I'll believe that the world is sane again when "Shot Marilyn" is viewed as an ugly historical curiosity, worth maybe a thousand bucks for its strange historical interest.
