Pay no attention to the fact that most of the time spent "hiding" the information was overnight, Reid, when you say it "took a day." Or that most Americans would understand if the Veep and his staff said they wanted to give the friends the overnight time to gird themselves for the onslaught of idiots - Connie - who would descend on them when word got out. Something like this could easily wait until the AM.
Senator Reid, you disgust me.

I just posted this on another thread:
I rarely go to DU, but I was curious, and it took me 30 seconds to find this comment (below).
DU poster wrote:
"Why call and report this to newspaper..Why not report it to the law enforcement officials first..Ya like you or I could get by with this
Its obvious he was probably drunk, not to report this for 24 hours Suppose a Democrat could get away with this?"

The media will be eating crow for many months or even years after they are exposed for trying to make the VP look like a incompetent scumbag. That's a big dream.....

".. to refuse to be forthcoming about information that is of significance and relevance to the jobs that all of you do, and the interests of the American people"
Huh? What a hypocrite but that is nothing new with the loony libs.
Could someone please tell me how this accident was relevant or significant to me or anyone else besides the people involved? I can't figure out how it is even any of my business! It is nothing more than gossip for the masses and rags.

I agree with every one of the above examples of Democratic hypocracy but... but... is anyone really going to defend the PR handling of this? It looks awful!Considering how the press treats the POTUS and the VP.....I wouldn't blame them for not telling them...
The press act as if...they are PART of government...for crying out loud.

mygawd at the pure unadulterated lunacy at DU. *suppose a Democrat could get away with this?* Banging my head against wall. WTH kind of reality do they exist in? It's just all too much. The MSM, democrats in general, and DU in particular.
To: Paleo Conservative
Yes, that's it!
The dumb press is covering their rears because not one of them was covering the VP. Not one.
Whittington was taken directly to the hospital, the local police were promptly (within 10 minutes, I've heard) notified. Somehow Cheney was supposed to pick up the phone and call the press corps.
Look at the evolution of this story. First it was "Cheney was negligent, he should have had the ESP to know that the man was somewhere there." Now it's "Cheney was trying to keep this a secret."
Just remember, the press is the story here. Why does none of them decide it is worth it to cover the Vice President?

I know. Isn't it sad that they get to vote?

Funny, but everytime I hear those Dems talking, it just sounds to me like "quack quack quack".
So maybe they don't want to be making that kind of noise around Cheney.
