It treats the unintended and embarrassing consequences of the actions you chose to participate in.

Wrong. What about rape victims, or incest victims? You think they had a choice in the matter?

And so much for businesses be able to do business according to the owner's moral standard.

Selling abortificants is a religious matter, not just a business one.

The state is not supposed to force someone, including a corporate entity, to act against their religious beliefs.

Massachusetts is one of the "blue" states most like western Europe in its thinking, and like western Europe, it seems to be doing everything it can to die out.

Romney, the "libertarian" did this. Libertarians in Mass. love forcing their amorality on the public by law. They hate Christians and so anything Christians don't want to do, is top on the Republican agenda for State force. The only way Romney could survive here is if he went along with them and he does, with gusto.

What percentage of abortion are due to rape or incest? Let me guess, you don't think there's anyone who uses abortion as a primary means of birth control. There aren't any cases where people make their kid get an abortion because it would be embarrassing, right? I would bet that those two reasons are the primary reasons for people getting abortion. Let me know about that statistic. I'd like to know exactly what percentage of abortions are due to rape or incest. Let me know if you put statutory rape in that stat as well. We all know Planned Parenthood likes to do surgical abortions to cover up statutory rape. That's probably not a large percentage of abortions, either.

The pharmacies are licensed, and a requirement of the license is to stock whatever the state tells you.

So much for the free market.

States license liquor stores, too. Should the corner store be required to stock Shiner Bock?

States also perform health inspections of restaurants and can shut you down if you don't meet health standards. Should that power also extend to dictating the restaurant's menu?

Rape victims ought to be in a hospital, not in WalMart.

I suppose incest victims will want to purchase the giant economy size bottle of morning-after pills and pick up some smokes for Dad while they're waiting for their prescription to be filled.

This is where quite frankly if I am the President of Wal-Mart, I pull every single store out of Massachussetts laying off hundreds.

I would do the same. Immediately.

The morning after pill is NOT an abortion pill.

Of course it is

Strictly speaking, most oral contraceptives are "abortion pills" as well, since they work by preventing a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus wall, the fertilized egg will therefore evacuate and die. Just like an abortion...just really early.

When did Romney ever claim to be a libertarian?

Libertarians in Mass. love forcing their amorality on the public by law.

LOL. Not many libertarians in Mass. If there were, the State would not be forcing private business owners to stock medication that they found morally objectionable.

He sounds like a Bill Maher "libertarian". First they hijacked the term liberal. Now they're trying to hijack the term libertarian because liberal has a bad connotation. But they're just socialists.

The generally accepted statistics are 1 - 3%

Substantially higher numbers are sometimes quoted, but as former uber-abortionist and co-founder or NARAL Bernard Nathanson has pointed out, these statistics were simply made up for propoganda purposes.

I don't understand how the government can make a private bussiness stock a product it doesn't want to.

The same way it can make a business pay employees a state mandated minimum wage, limit the number of hours an employee can work, require employers to buy workers compensation insurance.

Oh, please. That tired canard has been eviscerated so many times, even raving lunatic psychopathic wild-eyed abortion worshiping ghouls rarely try that one in public anymore.

The number of abortions due to rape or incest has been shown to be less than 1/2 of 1%. This isn't an issue of saving victims from the horrors of impregnation against their will, it is an issue of conveniently disposing of the inconvenient side-effects of sleeping around.

I have read 1 - 3%, but the stats quoted are usually so nonsensical that I would not be surprised to find that yours are more accurate.

Besides, these days, you can get into a real argument with some people just getting them to agree on what the definition of rape is. We live in a very odd time...

I was replying to your statement that all women who get pregnant do so out of their own free will. Yes, sadly, most cases of abortion are for simple birth control. I don't see the morning after pill as an abortion pill because I do not hold the opinion that life begins at conception. But that is a separate issue from the post you originally made. There is a legitimate need for such a morning after pill and I gave two simple examples of it. It doesn't matter what the statistics are about how many women need it for what reason. I do not believe that it should be banned since it is used with respect to casual, consensual sex. It is needed for the situations where the sex is forced.

As a government "of the people", the state of Massachusetts has to keep a tight leash on those darned fascist businesses. ;-)
