the airways are free to listen to if you have a receiver. Radio waves are fair game just remember that and you will have no problem. Besides... what do you have to hide eh?

These are phone calls in a jail setting. No expectation of privacy.

I'm not for the use of torture most of the time, but in this case I would use it to find out where those kids are.

Is this the moron that was featured on the Dr. Phil show? He has a "friend" that claims to not know where those children are, but was smirking the whole time she was denying knowledge.

There is an expectation of privacy except for security. To handout private conversations to a newspaper. Granted the defendant is a POS, the larger picture is the erosion of privacy and the hypocrisy of the local newspaper.

I wonder if any of those calls were to his attorney. What then?

Or the mom could be really unfit to be a parent. There is not enough info in the article to know. If this guy didn't kill the kids, he feels strongly enough about the mom being a bad parent to go to jail.

If he did kill the kids, he's just Industrial Strength crazy.

If you want to champion inmate privacy rights, you may want to find a more sympathetic figure than this child killer.

In a conversation in November, Porter said that he started lying to police about the children’s whereabouts as soon as he was arrested.

“The first thing they said was, ‘Where’s your kids at? If we find out that you harmed them or killed them, we can give you the death penalty.’ ”

They should try looking after the preposition...

I think that State should cut its losses and beat it out of him.

You can receive the signal all day free of charge and DirecTV will have no problem with it. It's the equipment to decode the signal that's gonna cost you.

There is? I have received probably close to a thousand calls from county jails, state and federal prisons. With every call there is a recording stating that calls may be listened to. I don't expect anything I say during these conversations to be private. I also don't expect anything overheard during a visit to be private.

"“The guards call me Al Pacino and the Godfather in here,” he said, “because of the way I run things. I got some pull, buddy. I can’t wait to get to prison and get started all over, because it’s gonna be like a new school.”

he "runs" the nut ward, and thinks things will be the same when he gets to a big house? LOLOL....he may well surrender the whereabouts of his kids after a week or two in the big house.....

Are you an attorney or just have a few black sheeps in the family? If you are an attorney why would you ever talk with a client about confidential matters on the phone? Wow, I would put some heat on the jail for private phone lines in a controlled dial to the attorney. One last point, this guy is a POS, I'm not defending him.

No, I'm not an attorney.

There are private phone lines for attorney/inmate calls. I'm not sure I would trust them to be private though. Guess I'm a touch paranoid.

I think they'll find the kids before the preposition.
