Deval Patrick was Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in clinton's DOJ. The Obama of the East.

That state is as socialist as states come, other than for perhaps CA.

Patrick is a stone racist. He tried to impose strict hiring quotas for unqualified minorities when he worked for Clinton. But of course, black racism is a good thing...

Without a doubt... but their Governor's of late have been Republican.

Patrick would be a lib-favorite... but a lot of libs up here are closet-racists. Many of these are hoping for a last-minute toss-in-the-ring by Joe Kennedy or someone like him.

It'll be a close race no matter who the Dems choose.

Yeah, I know, but haven't the GOP governors been somewhat handcuffed in terms of what they've been able to accomplish?

That's an understatement :) Mass. was the only state McGovern carried in 1972.

Handcuffed is an understatement.

I have this theory that MA voters want Republican Governor's solely to lay blame for the idiocy of an almost, all-Dem Legislature.

BTW... I'm out'a here with the first, decent job offer.

Muffie vs the Commie, this should be great, do you think that the little old ladies will forgive Muffie for becoming an Episcopalian?

If John Kerry could convince the massholes HE was Irish, maybe this young Patrick fellow can, too. So, don't count him out. No one ever lost an election by over-estimating the gullibility of the average white masshole.

BTW, I wonder if young massholes study the Civil Rights record of St. Jack of Kennedy, their Holy Martyr, while he was in the Congress?

It's questions like this that cause the average masshole Southie voter (not a geographically restricting description) to become dazed and confused and turn their lives over to John Kerry. Of course, Patrick could turn this to his advantage by giving away Rosary Beads with his picture on them.

I wonder if you guys know how scary this thread really is? Every time something like this happens in Kennedyland, we are faced with a wave of refugees. If it keeps up, Maine will revert to just being Eastern Massachusetts, again.

Good for you. With all of the nonsense in the news that comes out of there, I certainly don't blame ya. I've always said that I'd never live in CA, NJ, MA, MD, or NY and I'm originally from NY and love upstate. Just can't handle the taxes/politics. Can't speak for NJ, MD, or MA, but traditional Americans are leaving NY and CA in droves. I know many.

I'm starting to get concerned about VA however given Kaine's recent win on the heels of a Warner governorship. Warner got in, believe it or not, largely due to GOP "elder" Warner's name recognition and the lack of ability of voters to know the difference, or so it's been said. I believe it. But Kaine's win is troubling. The man's a lib politician through and through. Northern VA has fast become a megolopolis and we all know that cities breed libs.

VA's beginning to look a little like NY in fact where NYC carries the state amongst an otherwise (generally speaking) conservative populace in over 90% of the states lands. DC (VA side) is turning into a NYC of sorts. Arlington is very liberal now.

Joe could make it interesting...head to head libs.

I wonder if William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth, will jump in.
