Yeah, I have post, POST traumatic slave syndrome. Being Jewish, I'm constantly reminded of the time the Jews spent in slavery in Egypt! Thank goodness that The Lord used Moses to rescue us!

I suppose that The Ten Commandments will be on TV again next month, around Easter and Passover. It just reenforces that slave mentality!

And the Holocaust survivors? No therapy there. No ' we were forced to work in the camps, so we need welfare now."

Well, actually, the German government DOES pay money to the survivors of the Holocaust.

I'm sure that we all have slavery in our roots somewhere down the line but only blacks chose to keep the identity as a crutch.I don't care what kind of family a person comes from because he can break the cycle when he starts his own family. If we want to talk about victims I bet there are more people who are dead and suffering from post traumatic black crime disorder than there are suffering from the post slave disorder.

"If every girl who was molested, physically or emotionally abused growing up was put on birth control her entire life, unless she saw a therapist and was married the crime rate in America would be the lowest ANYWHERE in the world."

I was emotionally (and somewhat physically) abused by my family for years mainly because I did not fit in well with the family and was too honest for the other members who were bent on self-deception in many ways.

I have been married happily to Mr. Adler for 33 years. I worked very hard to be a better parent to my own kids than my parents were to me. My children are: two happy and successful daughters: one is a medical researcher with a master's degree; the other is a CPA who works for a big corporation in their corporate headquarters. Both are happily married; one has her first child and is one of the very best mothers I have ever known. They are both excellent problem solvers and decision makers and well put together young women.

I take the greatest exception to statements from your posts exemlified by the one quoted above.

Some students at William Paterson University Thursday said they could see a correlation between the behavior of some students on campus and what a visiting professor called "post-traumatic slave syndrome."...the Lamarckian notion of the inheritance of acquired characteristics was discredited a hundred years ago - what are they teaching these kids nowadays?!......

"What happens when someone is traumatized? They need to go through therapy," he said. 'Freed slaves were never given any therapy after experiencing what they did.' And where can I find these 140+ yr-old victims?"

A few years back when I worked at a print-shop in Columbia, MD, the owner, black, left for a few days to attend his grand father's funeral in Birmington Alabama.

After he returned, he told me a story about his great-great grandfather, living in Birmington, having been freed from slavery at the age of 9. When he passed away, in his 90's, he left a 300 acre estate to his children - all this done on his own initiative, without the NAACP or other guilt groups.

Senior Dennis Wilson, 27, said "Many in our community are prone to dislike work because as slaves, we had to work long hours and weren't justly compensated."

Solution: Go to work now, be "justly compensated" and you'll be cured!

Easy! Next problem?

Senior Dennis Wilson, 27...

Oh sure, that must be it. How did this guy make it to being a senior?

I'm giving you a hint. :)

"Joy DeGruy Leary, an assistant professor of social work at Portland State University, presented more than a decade of research . . . "

OK, so how much money does she want, and how does she want it distributed?

Well, coming from a 27-year-old senior, I can understand his take.
