Uhh... Hate to rain on Ann's parade, but from people I knew in the Gulf War, Saddam's Republican Guard were not wimps. As I heard, "They were a whole different class of soldier." Much more professional. Probably make up the majority of the current "insurgents".

A few years ago, the Democrats wouldn't allow a vote on Bush's Hispanic, black and female judicial nominees. Sen. Bill Frist was afraid of what the Democrats might do, so he backed down. Scary Democrats! And not just Joe Biden's hair plugs -- all of them were scary to Sen. Frist!Joe Bidens' hair plugs. LOL

Uh, but the result was the same: Iraq was crushed in no time so the Republic Guard (elire or not) was pretty much a paper tiger.

If something sounds good to her she says it, and whether it is true or not isn't really important.

Agreed. As always, our soldiers are true professionals and know their jobs. Just a slight factual error on her part. Remember, we all need to learn from history. No man who hides in a hole in the ground can truely lead, he has to have a vast support network of "followers" or "believers".

I will dispense with recapitulating the unpleasantness over Bush's last high court nominee, except to say that within days of Bush's nominating Democrat Harry Reid's friend Harriet Miers, every Republican in the nation was opposed to her. The only exceptions were people whose sole reason for living is to receive a personal phone call from Karl Rove. Uh, no Ann, your dead wrong... unless by "every Republican" you mean the very vocal minority who were used as usefull idiots in Karl Roves's well laid plan....
