I am posting this for a friend who knows Dr. Wasek very well, is active duty, and very upset with this situation. I have Dr. Wasek's permission to post this.

I like Dr. Wasek a lot....even though I don't know him.

I did not see the offending cartoon. But I can tell you that Mr. Toles wouldn't lift a hand to defend his country. You want to make Toles angry? Defend your country. That, apparently, really angers him.

Putz.

When was the cartoon published? Can you post it? I have been a thirty year plus subscriber to the Post and If I agree with Dr. Wasek I will cancel my subscription and inform the Post why.

I'm also a veteran.

Please, puh-LEASE let the Washington Dumb-As-A-Post decide to stand up for its "journalistic integrity"!

Wish I could help. However, I canceled my subscription to the Washington Lying Thieving Post over 10 years ago.

I guess I could subscribe again so I could cancel again. ;-)

The Washington Post and well as the New York Times and the major TV media all support the terrorist so their actions are normal for TRAITORS. Wish you luck in your actions.

While not in the DC area, my son is an active duty soldier in the general circulation region of the WaPo (Fort Lee, VA).

I will send this to him.

I not sure, if he subscribes. As a FReeper's son, I would expect that he wouldn't even steal a copy.

Although I do not subscribe to the Washington Compost I have cliked on thier site occassionally. I will not do that in the future and recommend that Freepers not post anything from the WaPo.

I would have to say that the cartoon is one of more tasteless things that I've ever seen published, and I've seen some tasteless things. The letter writer is correct. The cartoonist (and the editorial staff who allowed it) should, at the least, be ashamed.

If this cartoon ticks you off, check out these two from the disgusting Rex Rabin (Sacramento Bee):

"Mr. Toles may not agree with the war and he has his freedom of speech right to draw what he wants and you have your freedom of the press right to publish what you want.."

Precsisely because of current and former military members.

Unfortunately if every service member that now subscribes to the post cancels, it will only reduce their circulation by five.

I don't understand why anyone in the military would still be a subscriber to the Compost. The Compost may be making a smart move as probably 90% of their remaining subscribers are part of the Angry Left and would probably applaud the cartoon. Of course, they are kissing off any credibility of objectivity, but hey, it may be a good financial move.

I have read and enjoyed FreeRepublic for a couple years now. Although I have wanted to reply to a few things in the past, I never took the time to register. This cartoon finally motivated me to get off my A$$ and register.(Although, I remained seated during the registration process) This cartoon is outrageous and canceling subscriptions to the Post is not enough! Here is a link to a list of companies that The Washington Post owns. http://www.cjr.org/tools/owners/washpost.asp
KPRC will be getting a letter from me stating that I will not be viewing anything they air in the future.(Not that I ever watched anything on NBC) I urge everyone to help put these liberal fools out of business!!!! BTW, whose army do you think these libs are going to call when they are in danger of terrorist attack???
