Any mention of the Congressional Chocolate Caucus raising several hundred thousand dollars for Katrina relief......and keeping the money?

Just a day or so ago it was reported that the HHS offered to help with the evacuation of people in hospitals and were refused.
Does the report recommend that the federal government supercede state government and usurp local power.
Do we want to give any president the power to take over any state for any reason?

Most Americans are sick to death of the whining and handwringing coming from the "Who's gonna buy me a house" crowd in New Orleans.
Bush has taken all the damage he's going to take over Katrina. We're sick and tired of trying to tie this around Bush's neck when Mississippi and Florida (four hurricanes last year, two this year) are silently going about rebuilding.
Gimme, gimme, gimme. Entitlement is understandable in spoiled children. In overweight adults, it's disgusting.

Some thought Bill Clinton was the teflon POTUS, since scandal seemed to slide off of him...mainly because the media never followed up on a story that would do damage to Bill like they do with W.
IMHO, Bush is the TEFLON POTUS...the factless, obstructionist, pathetic ilk of the left and their alphabet soup network mouthpiece constantly try to tear this President down...and he takes it in stride.
God Bless the US, and may here enemies both foreign and domestic rot in Hell (CNN, Hillary, Sheehag, etc., come to mind)

If you watched any of Congressman Shays hearings you just knew that the deck ws going to be stacked against the President.
Shays knows that to get invited on the TV shows he has to trash the President.....and he does.
This man thought it was perfectly alright to support a President who committed rape, but he's bashing this President for things WAY beyond his control
Shays is one of the new specie of lice infecting our country.

It's not teflon that protects this president. It's his faith and the prayers of millions upon millions of Americans.

I agree, but the metaphor seems to apply.
When you're right in conviction...falsehoods are exposed and do little damage.

No mention of the 400,000 or so that were airlifted out of there and seem to have resettled happily, elsewhere. That was pure genius to get them out of there.

Heard the sissy Mary Landrieu on CNN this morning in the office break-room...she disgusted me; I turned the channel to Fox News. She was adamant that Bush & Co. have not done enough to help rebuild the coastal region...just bad-mouthing Bush and the Administration...the same 'ol whining...
I'm all for helping the good citizens of the region get their lives back in order, but it pains me to have to do so through the hands of the likes of this incompetent senator, and Louisiana's Not-So-Honorable governor and da mayor of NO-Ray Nagin.
We can only hope and pray that all three are voted out of office.

I imagine these sorts of things are already set up, have been set up for years, and are in a play book somewhere.
All they had to do was follow it (starting in LA - not DC).
----I agree. But that would take intelligence and common sense. If you see things are going bad, don't friggin wait for someone to tell you what the hell to do anyway. Use your friggin head and MOVE out of harms way. If Nagin and Blanco were to stupid to act responsibly then self preservation should have kicked in and they SHOULD have thought for themselves. As far as Bush getting blamed. Jeez, he does everything but wipe their a**es now for them. That excuse was lame back then and I for one, am getting sick of hearing it still 5 months later.
