Who in their right mind would volunteer to be roughed up by Steelers fans?
Don't know (my friend is an East Coaster and has gone to bed by now).
Just seems to me to be a bit late to line up volunteers (not like the venue wasn't known years in advance...)

That's fine. As long as it goes around as [Unconfirmed]. As soon as someone "official" denies it (or confirms it) I repeat that it is "unconfirmed".
Again, if you know any Red Cross peeps in MI, ask them.
Could it be that they've only just realized that they didn't line up enough volunteers? A simple over-sight? If they're scrambling to get more supplies too, that might suggest they're acting on new info, or maybe they just didn't plan well. Do they have a new administrator, who discovered they've all had their heads up their butts? Are any law enforcement agencies issuing last-minute changes?
I suspect the Red Cross is just carrying on their tradition of poor planning. But if there are other indications of RC or others stepping up personnel and supplies at the last minute, there very well may be an additional thread beside the usual vandalism. I hope we get some answers.

This is a comment that I read on another website discussing the possibility of an attack this Sunday. Totally unconfirmed. I share it because I know there are others who are better able to see if there is anything to it. Could simply be some idiot playing a game...if so, not funny!

On another thread it was posted that Condolezza Rice will be in attendance (she is a Browns fan, but the media is reporting that she is rooting for the Steelers). I can't believe for a minute that if there was any threat that the Secretary of State would be permitted (by the administration) to attend. Security will be at its pinacle on Sunday (and this week leading up to the big game in Detroit).
There is nothing more American than Super Bowl Sunday...and I trully believe that nothing will be permitted to happen (other than the Seahawks being trounced).
Well, as someone said in jest, if there is some destruction in Detroit, how could you tell?
