On behalf of all FReepers from Virginia.
Please let us extend our apologies for our Governor. But, don't blame me. I didn't vote for him.

The State of Virginia should be furious. Their Governor just went on national television spewing the usual democrat, liberal, and hate filled statements that democrats have become famous for. His manner of speaking reminded me of the late Fred Rogers, though Mr. Rogers was far more respectful and respect-worthy. I couldn't watch the whole thing (though I did videotape it) because of my increasing desire to throw the remote at the TV. Yes, the people of New Orleans were failed by their government. But which government is that and which party runs it?

In Virginia governor's are strictly limited to one term only. There is no reelection for Kaine, for governor at least.

Well the VA GOP ran a poor campaign the got the Warner ticket elected and moved a very mediocre governor to the national stage. Then again the VA GOP compounded the problem and ran another poor campaign that got Kaine elected ! Kaine was only a so-so mayor of Richmond before he was Lt Gov.
The VA GOP has been leaderless and clueless in its last two efforts.

He looks like Alan Colmes' brother with that left eyebrow shooting straight up in the air when he gets excited. Alan gets botox injections to control his unruly eyebrow muscle and it appears that Tim probably needs the same treatment. Must be a mutant liberal gene or something.

He was only sworn in (or at?) about a week or so ago. the public will forget this in short order. Much like Mass with a Rep Gov and Dem legislature, here we have a Dim Bulb Gov and Rep legislature.

Did anyone notice that "Fat Teddy" didn't seem to be on the floor for the speech. I looked for him and saw Palosi, Reid, Biden, and all the usual suspects but no Teddy. I was hoping they would show him when the President mentioned Alito and Roberts.

Surely the entire citizen count of Virginia does not agree with him. The fact that they do not agree with him is irrelevant. He is their duly elected executive, and as such does speak for them.

Just to clear up any misconceptions...Virginia governors are prohibited from serving two consecutive terms. They can serve, wait out a term, then run again a la Mills Godwin in the '70's. Some here want to change this to allow consecutive terms, but I like it just fine the way it is.
And yes, Little Timmy Kaine is the fool he proved himself to be last night. I lived under him as mayor of Richmond, and he is an empty suit, as liberal as the day is long. I still can't believe he's Governor.
And by the way fellow Virginians, when the &$*&% will we kick Russ "I never met a tax I didn't like" Potts out of the state GOP?
