You feeling alright?
A few months ago a police officer was in line behind us at the local coffee drive-thru. I paid for his coffee when I got to the window and drove off not wanting any thanks. The officer drove up and down Broadway until he noticed my wife and I having our coffee. He stopped and visited with us and offered his thanks. It surprised me that he was so thankful for such a random act of kindness.
Cop shouldn't be allowed to come close to a gun anymore. Seems to be a little excitable.
Should we start a pool for the caliber?
"Should we start a pool for the caliber?"
I'd bet a case of whiskey it was a 9 mm. Good whiskey. ;-)
"100 mph car chase that ended in a wreck? Cop should have shot them both."
Some would argue that this attitude is why an escape was necessary.
I agree with you....
Not being a police man...and never playing one on T.V. I do find it odd..and seemingly illogical to tell a perp...to "get up" after he's already laying on the ground....
Isn't it customary to handcuff them while laying face down?
The piece doesn't really tell us much. Perhaps those in the Corvette knew who was chasing them and thought they would be executed. Aha, a conspiracy might have been afoot.
That is not a tragedy; it is a crime of attempted murder - IF what this article describes is true and supported by the tape. A tragedy is when someone is harmed in an accident.
Depends upon which part of the state you're in. It varies from county to county. Some counties are pretty easy. Some are impossible (unless you're somehow connected to a politician).
IMPOSSIBLE!
If it had been a ''9'' the devastating effects of *hydrostatic shock* would have left the victim a smoking pile of garden mulch!
The bottom line is:
Anytime someone is pointing a firearm at you, your life is in immediate jeopardy, so choose your actions, or lack of action, wisely.
Arguably, refusing to comply with the order to rise would have resulted in a lesser injury as the policeman collected his wits while deciding how to deal with the new challenge.
That's pretty much it, in a nutshell.
You guys are being mean to the 9mm lovers. LOL
Naw, the best is to not let anyone know you have a copy, and give the copy to the police. Then when they come out with a manipulated and edited version you slam them with the original.
Hmm, shot in the chest AND in the ribs, eh? Is that like getting shot in the stomach and in the abdomen?
A poorly written article but..
1) There is obvious evidence the crime was still in progress
2) The perps were only recently disarmed and still in reach of the obvious weapon.
3) The perps may have had additional weapons still concealed from the LEO.
The only salient thing that can be said about the exchange of conversation and any misunderstandings that triggered the shooting is:
Remaining motionless, on the ground, with empty hands in plain sight of LEOs, even if disobeying a direct order, almost precludes the chance of an accidental injury by gun shoot.
Ya, I'll go with 9mm. Either that or a .22. I know my wife can't shoot a .38 but she loves her 9mm and her .22. Oh, and her .32 also. So either 9mm, .22 or .32.
Hmm. To choose, to choose .....
I saw this video this morning on Today, and it was very grainy and sketchy, but your account seems accurate. It was very disturbing to watch. I think they probably had a Barney Fife on their hands.
"If it had been a ''9'' the devastating effects of *hydrostatic shock* would have left the victim a smoking pile of garden mulch!"
LOL! Thanks, I needed that!
