Without aggressive education efforts, how can they get that 60 votes?
What was the base for the Contract with America revolution back in 1994? It was a cohesive plan that resonated with the voters. So, you've got to have a plan first. And then go on offensive convincing people that you are right. Republicans are not doing that.
It is one of the reasons that I support Newt Gingrich (with all his flaws and without agreeing with him on 100%): the man has a plan!
Indeed, big government Republicanism seems to be an ideological dead end. I don't have a problem with Newt. I'm afraid others do.
