This whole Alito vote stinks to high heaven. It makes absolutely no sense why the Dems rolled over. The only thing I can think of is that a back room deal was cut. The Dems give em Alito and the Repukes vote for a Bush Impeachment. Before you start screaming - no way, think about it. Hearings are about to start on the NSA Illegal wiretapping. Everyone knows they have "His Majesty" stone cold guilty of violating the FISA Act and Article 4 of the Constitution. Hell he even proudly admits to it. The Repukes will be hard pressed to explain this one away. So they cut a deal with the Dems to get Alito on the Court. They save face with the hard core evangelical rght wingers and get to cut and run in time to save their own necks for the mid-term elections.

I saw Garrett ask Reid who was the leader of the Democrat Party, and Reid say That was an unfair question. Unfortunately, someone phoned just at that moment and I missed the rest of the exchange. Guess I'll try to tape it at midnight.
believe me....if it'd been the last bottle (drop?), I would have licked but with a case in the wine cooler, there was no need....I needed the wine to get me through the vote for cloture....when the 60th vote came through, I called my dad hooping and hollering (an old alabama saying...) and then continued to sip more of the wine of the gods....in celebration, of course....
And I got the kids to get their homework done too!

No he is trying to have his cake and eat it too. Will vote against Alito but voted FOR cloture. His little Press conference today makes it clear he is NOT on our side. Despite what all the Closet Democrat Freepers will tell you, Chaffe should be dumped by the party to "encourage" the other RINOS to remember who brought them to the dance.

So realistically this vote was 74-26, though the official tally was 72-25. The two absent Republicans would have voted "yes", while Harkin was really a "no".
We had our chance in 2004, and out of 35 million people we could find a decent candidate to run against her.
I thought the list showed tribes NOT from Nevada as well...
I find it SO hard to believe he is as clean as he says he is...and that he has never even been in a building with Abramoff...
HE got the most money of any of them...
I had heard a while back that he IS one of the ones that the justice department are investigating though...so we will see.

Did he just criticize Alito for saying that the Constitution doesn't guarantee the right to an abortion?
If so, I would like this turd of a senator to show us just where in the Constitution there is any such guarantee.
That goes without saying; can't wait to see if Brit has him on the show today. We actually look forward to him because it's so much fun to watch them slap him down.
