First of all it should be clear to even a three year old that Coulter wasn't being serious. I'd be willing to bet that even the moonbats don't believe she was really calling for someone to off Justice Stevens.

Second, she got a writeup in the media so that the larger context of her speech was published far beyond a college campus in Little Rock. Usually the liberal media has no interest in covering any conservative's speech. But they'll cover Coulter's speeches because she'll occasionally say outrageous things. The trick is to be just outrageous enough to generate controversy and free media coverage without going so far beyond the pale that the average joe doesn't know it's all in frolic.

Coulter plays the media like a drum, one of the few that is able to do it, and do it consistently well.

We're fortunate to have her on our side.

Well, I can assure you that I'm older than three and that I know she wasn't being serious. That's not the point, however. You can quit with the defense of these latest remarks being taken out of context. They weren't. She said them and they were in poor taste. Gaffes like these only hurt her credibility.

I've been one of Ann Coulter's hugest fans and still think she is brilliant. For some reason though, she really enjoys munching on her foot and it really is annoying to watch and impossible to defend.

True, true. I retract my statement. If someone jokes about murder as a way to decide our leadership then we should immediately condemn it, despite who says it, because liberals might take it seriously being that they have dog IQ. They might see it as giving permission. Shame on Ann and shame on me for not condemning it beforehand, although I wouldn`t mind seeing Hillary get a nice dose of rabies, not that anyone would notice the change in attitude.
