"Coulter is an idiot. I"m tired of her sullying so-called conservatives. She's a joke and an "act." I can't be the only one who believes this around here."
No, you're not the only one with a cluelessly short memory and no taste in the art of lampooning.
To: F16Fighter
One of the comedians invited a sniper to hit the President....sometime during last year's campaign, I think.
It came out of no place and was tied to nothing but dislike for the President. I didn't find that to be appropriate humor.
This quip by Coulter, though, fit the context of Stevens age, liberalism, hanging on, etc.

"This quip by Coulter, though, fit the context of Stevens age, liberalism, hanging on, etc."Context, circumstance, and style is everything.
Coulter was obviously soooo tongue in cheek.

So, you're more concerned about her undeserved pin-up girl status then the way she coarsens political discourse? You sure wouldn't want to see political discourse coarsened.
/ sarcasm

Coulter and Hannity remind me of

Cover your delicate ears, then.
American politics is a full contact sport. Sissies can stay home and knit.

remember that Malveaux woman saying Mrs. THomas should feed him more bacon and eggs and other fatty foods so he could have a heart attack and die? That was a real hoot. /sarc

Ann's bluntness is a brilliant marketing tool.
As Rush says - tweak a liberal every chance you get!
Go git'um, Ann! :o)
To think....this one thread already at 270 and counting.
To: EDINVA
And the connection to Ann Coulter is what?

Re: Jude 24.
I think Jude 24 is sort of a crypto-troll here on FR - a political cross-dresser. If you go back about 500 of his posts (three months, a lot of free time for a joker who claims he's a law student), Jude 24 says he doesn't "give a crap" about Coulter. See, he does operate on a high level of political discourse. Anyway, he's indulged here on FR I guess because he posts oodles of punctilious, essentially liberal religious dogma. The unresolved issues of the 30 Years War and so forth can generate lots of posts. Nevertheless, Jude 24 isn't honest about his political position. He takes the full Murtha (no lubricant) stance on Iraq, he likes Ruth Ginsburg and NPR, but he hates Fox News, Newsmax, World Net Daily, Rupert Murdoch, and so forth. Most obviously, his disdain for Coulter is reflexive and crude. He can't contain himself - only an inelegant and vulgar line will do against the horrible Coulter. And he has personal knowledge she's a dreadful performer for "us". Well, you bet Jude 24 is a lefty or, as you put it, some dude at the DU clam bar. But he knows so much about being a student of Christian theology that nobody takes the trouble to nail his butt to the floorboards when he "ejaculates" some moronic comment like Annie is nothing but low blow insults or that she isn't a skillful debater. You're the first guy in recent months who's got his number. No need to reply. You did a good job. Best advice to Jude 24 would be, "Brer Rabbit, he lay low."

It's really not funny to joke about killing people.
you're right. When I tell people that the Iranian leader Ahmedinejad needs to be killed, I aint joking.

I agree that it was inappropriate, but all it was, was a joke that flopped.
I am willing to bet that 99.9% of Freepers say such things openly in private conversations and even with group conversations of friends.
So, this hullaballo by Freepers of a bad joke that flopped is being overblown, also.

the 'connection to Ann' is that they are similar statements but Ann will be fried more for HER statement than Julianne Malveaux ever was

Her "poison Stevens" comment has no similar justification. It is one of those jokes that isn't really a joke, like Alec Baldwin calling for Henry Hyde to be stoned to death.
She must have constipation or sumfin. The headlines are going to be in the vein of
"Conservative Firebrand Ann Coulter Calls Poisoning Supreme Court Justice Stevens a 'Joke'"
To: RaceBannon
Oh dear, Ann started channeling Nina Tottenberg!!!! At least Julianne saw to it as a condemmed man that Justice Thomas got a last meal.

freepers telling jokes that flop, in their personal lives, or even to each other on FR, is a bit different than saying something like this in a public forum, when you are speaking as a conservative icon. it tars the entire conservative cause. and besides, ann knows better.
