Israel will share the same fate as Rhodesia and South Africa.
Europe better not snicker and America should keep an open eye.
Like I said, what are they going to do? Nuke the Palestinians? They can't. Occupy their territory? They already did that. Bomb them? Bomb what? Win the hearts and minds of the Pali street? Won't happen. Decapitate the government? That justifies a response by Syria, Iran, and whoever else wants a piece of Israel.
What do you foresee happening? More houses getting bulldozed? This is a recipe for disaster because the entire region will become involved. No one will be left out.
Better tune up that bicycle. You'll be needing it.
I suppose then it will all depend on how much foreign governments legitimise Hamas as a political entity. Hopefully all governements will unite in not qualifying them as such.
I think Israel might just roll over and die before anything that dramatic.

When Israel occupied it the first time, it was Jordanian and Egyptian territory.
The rhetoric from the Iranian President most probably had a lot to do with Hamas winning. Hamas has Iranian money backing them and also a supply line for weapons. It may lead to false confidence on their part. It won't be long now.
The reality is that this is perhaps the best means of gaining the upper hand in the War on Terrorists, radical islam, whatever.
You don't bargain with islamists... You don't reason with them... You don't try to refrom it... You don't negotiate... You don't make concessions... Through their fruits, ye shall know them.
And from what I've seen from my time in the Balkans and now by their own admission at the ballot box, they are nothing more than animals that walk upright and imitate certain human behaviors. They eat, sleep, deficate, and have reproduce to make more terrorists.
But they lack the other attributes that give humans their humanity. Pity, remorse, fear are alien to them. Love... well the fact that they strap bomb packs on their own children shows you that doesn't exist either.
So instead you push them forward. You force them to admit what they are. Demand that the islamists devour every compliant victim. Once they have done so, they will have no more support. There will always be the useful idiots that will bend over backward to make excuses, but with this election, the jet black heart of the majority of the "o-ppressed and occupied" inhabitants of Palestine is on full display for the world to see.
Push them forward. Make them commit their evil in full display of the world. Force them to destroy anyone who would be complicit or support their actions. And forcefully and decisively deal with those deemed a threat.
What I think is so laughable about Iran is their continued goading of the U.S. Last time I checked, we had the capability of destroying 117 billion people. That's 18 times the current world population. You think your 68 million will take any effort at all? So go ahead and build you bomb... you are still so badly outgunned is pathetic you would even entertain the idea.
The Israeli government should announce loudly and publicly that the area from which the next homicide bomber or rocket comes from will be pushed back 1 kilometer by Israeli bulldozers backed by tanks. No house to house fighting, no 'clearing out', just raze 1 kilometer to the ground.
If it comes from the West Bank, start rolling the tanks and bulldozers 1 kilometer closer to Jordan. If it comes from the Golan Heights, 1 kilometer closer to Syria. Gaza? same thing, 1 kilometer closer to Egypt.
Eventually, the arabs (I refuse to call them 'palestinians, there's no such thing) will either stop the killings or be driven back into Jordan, Syria, and Egypt where they belong.
Either way, Israel wins and Hamas loses.
Problem solved.
Besides, now that Hamas runs the 'pali' government any attack on Israel becomes an act not of terrorism, but a State sanctioned Act Of War.
