Oh, wait a day. It cost me a lot of money.
I was running a Bill Clinton Joke-of-the-Day page, which was down to 3 times a week (from the original 5) and I was going to close up shop because after 2 years, I was getting bored with it.
Suddenly, I got more hits than you could imagine. So many that I got a call from the ISP in Texas (I was in New Jersey) telling me that my pages accounted for approximately 22% of the network usage that weekend. Ouch!
My bill for overage charges was about $170. I had to take the page down for a couple of hours. And I had to stop .forward-ing my mail to my work email account (another ouch -- got a reprimand for that one).

Ever since then, I've noticed a high correlation of finger to lie
