After the...reported on Mexican military crossings, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said the report was overblown and most of the incursions were just mistakes.
Thanks Mr. Chamberlain, that's very reassuring. It's good to know that the policy of appeasement followed by the previous and current Texas Governors, and the current President and the DHS are still in place.

Let 'em get a few miles inside the border then send in a company of infantry to cut them off. Next stop Gitmo.
Will that be filafel or frijoles Fernando?
Next uniformed incursion is fired on!
To: Main Street
Unbelievable! The mounted machine guns 200 yards inside the border was to cover a hurried retreat if needed. This was mos assuredly a Mexican military operation.

Local, state, and Border Patrol on the border need better arms to include LAWs.

Time to incorporate armed Predator drones into border patrol toolkits...

If we're not going to send the military to the border then, at least give the Border Patrol and local officials some heavy hardware. This situation is getting ridiculous.

Mr. Chertoff, the setting up of crew served weapons, 200 yards on *our* side of the border, can hardly be classified as an "innocent mistake"....

I called my senators and congressman about this today.
Congressman Wolf's office had the decency to sound interested. His aide asked for the address to the referenced article and took my personal information. He's been involved in the battle to combat MS-13, so this issue may be nearer to his heart.
Allen's and Warner's offices gave me the standard, "I'll pass along your concerns."
Me: Hi. I'm calling to let you know there's foreign military presence on our soil. This is a bad thing and I'm unhappy about it.
Them: *yawn* I'll let him know.
I don't call my senators often so I'm not sure what I should expect when I do. Is it SoP for Senator's aides to sound disinterested in whatever issue you call about?

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff. Does he give anyone the warm fuzzies in any way but more bureauracy? What does a lawyer know about the security of our country? I would have been comfortable with Bernard Kerik except he was obviously ok with illegal immigration.

I wish someone would explain to me why the fedgov is pretending that there's no problem. All I can come up with is either they're all being bribed, blackmailed, they've all gone stark raving mad, or I have.

"..."When you're up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us." Shoot the sumbeech with the machine gun first, imo, and any other SOB that gets near it. These guys need a couple of good, scoped rifles.
