Very good explanation!

The answer to the whole situation is to take away their ability to sell oil. I think it's one of the ironies of the ages that these avowed enemies of our way of life have to sell their goods to us in order to survive. It's not bad enough that our enemies are in a position to rake us over the coals financially, but then they use the proceeds to further attempts to destroy us. The key to breaking the back of this is to make ourselves less dependent on oil. Period. And the key to the key is for Americans to get fed up with being blackmailed by oil, or tired of higher and higher prices, and get serious about energy conservation. I know it means giving up their God-given right to drive 80 or 85 miles per hour on the highway and keeping their thermostats set to temperatures befitting a family of penguins in winter. But once Iran has a nuclear capability we are going to have the same problems with oil AND they will have yet another way to blackmail us.

41% is a lot of support when the president hasn't even asked for military action. The American people support the president when he takes military action. I'm not sure there has ever been an exception in our history. The worst poll on Iraq shows that people overwhelmingly supported going in. Now in hindsight they might regret it but they do NOT support an immediate pull out. They have supported the policy every step of the way. Finally, with or without polls, there is no threat to the policy. The president has been in control every step of the way.

Double finally, those of you who worry don't understand that the American people have always viewed Iran as a more serious threat.
