I'm watching the news right now, and the theme is, "Is Iran bluffing?" This isn't some group of guys playing penny-ante poker on some Friday night. (Preaching to the choir, I know).

What drives his timing? Internal instability we cannot see?

I think it's the relentless advance of our US troops. Ahmadeadjihadi knows that the game plan now that we're in Iraq and Afghanistan is to go for Syria and Iran next. If we achieve that, Islamofascism is cooked.

Perhaps Ahmadeadjihadi knows that Syria is two seconds away from losing it, and thinks it can bluff us off. He knows that Israel or the US using military force will bring complications that we'd rather avoid.

It could be that in addition to internal fears. It seems like panic, in any case.

I do not believe the US had plans to attack Iran before the nuclear thing came up. We recently extended the max age for new army recruits to 39 years old. We are, in fact, somewhat strained.

Remember who the President named in the Axis of Evil back in '99. Iran was one of them. This has been awhile in the making.

But those "others" didn't have nukes... Iran already has them, and they are trying to provoke Israel. Then Iran will "have" an excuse to nuke them.

Nothing is too powerful for God, including nukes. Israel will prevail.

I'll be the contrarian on this one. I think we have a good 6-9 months of the UN mambo. Then with mid-term elections in full swing, we won't start anything. I say 2007 before anything happens. I don't think Iran has the capability to do anything before then.

But thats the problem..no one is going to let them get to the point that they can "do anything".

Its there to see... Israel will not tolerate a fanatic with a nuke within striking distance.

They have tolerated other governments with leaders that weren't willing to launch nuclear missiles.

But this one starts off his presidency announcing his desire to annihilate Jews.

Then starts telling the world about his desire for the Muslim Messiah to come.

Sorry..we canot expect Israel to take him as a joke. We wouldn't.

Israel nukes Iran. Iran nukes Israel.

Yup..that'll solve everything.

Who said that? All I'm saying is its getting hairy. And btw I wouldn't ever agree that a nuke would hit Jerusalem.
