I'm going to take a wiiiiild guess ... and say that's where most of the complaining is coming from.
------------------------------------------------------------
Why the drop after 1960? (in deaths of women from illegal abortions)
The reasons were new and better antibiotics, better surgery and the establishment of intensive care units in hospitals. This was in the face of a rising population. Between 1967 and 1970 sixteen states legalized abortion. In most it was limited, only for rape, incest and severe fetal handicap (life of mother was legal in all states). There were two big exceptions California in 1967, and New York in 1970 allowed abortion on demand. Now look at the chart carefully.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Abortion Statistics - Decision to Have an Abortion (U.S.)
· 25.5% of women deciding to have an abortion want to postpone childbearing
· 21.3% of women cannot afford a baby
· 14.1% of women have a relationship issue or their partner does not want a child
· 12.2% of women are too young (their parents or others object to the pregnancy)
· 10.8% of women feel a child will disrupt their education or career
· 7.9% of women want no (more) children
· 3.3% of women have an abortion due to a risk to fetal health
2.8% of women have an abortion due to a risk to maternal health
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So how many womens lives have been saved by abortion?
Only about 3% of abortions since 1972 were reported to be due to a risk to maternal health. A reasonable person would recognize that not all of those cases represent a lethal risk. But lets say they did. That means that nearly 45 million fetuses were butchered to save the lives of about 1.3 million women. Or put another way; 35 babies are killed to save each woman.
Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.
another telling stat might be how many of these women are repeat customers.
The Roe decision is the supreme court's greatest self-inflicted wound since Dred Scott v Sanford.
What's this, Rohrbough's cause dejour? Last year he was wanting to lock up every gun in the world. For years after Columbine he tried to blame the police. It's not that I want to be accused of supporting abortion; its that the source of this message is very suspect. I am deeply sorry that he just can't seem to accept that his child was killed by two deviant jerks.
The decision regarding Roe v Wade told a generation that life is not precious. They just don't give a damn. How many murders last year? 16,000? How many murders in the USA before Roe v Wade? Abortion cheapens life.
I've often heard that the life, or health, of the mother is stretched to include emotional well being and mental health. If so, an actual threat to life from pregnancy complications drops through the floorboards.
And will be legal again in every single state if Roe V Wade is overtuned at the federal level.
Are you certain. I thought the father was defending the NRA.
well...
Both issues extend from a contemption of human life...
You should get your facts straight. Brian Rohrbough is not and never has never been against guns.
Rather than trying to slander someone you should stop, think and check your facts.
You are speaking of Tom Mauser. How anyone could confuse the names
Mauser and Rohrbough is beyond me.
Very Certain
Welcome!
Prayers for a great turnout for us both!!
I think you might be thinking of Tom Mauser. Isn't he the dad that's against guns.
Let me fix that for you. ; )
Please, don't confuse the liberals with verifiable historical facts!
(well, that's what my friends with issues often say)
Thanks. That does not take away from his conclusion that abortion on demand leads to a degrading of the respect for life.
Guess you weren't so certain after all.
I am taking it that you mean abortion in case of danger to the woman would be legal in all 50 not abortion on demand. ?
