Man Charged With Stalking 'Idol' In Fla.
A 59-year-old "American Idol" fan was arrested and charged with stalking a former contestant of the hit TV show in Florida, according to a Local 6 News report.
Investigators said Daniel Young told Tampa native Jessica Sierra that he was willing to go to jail to prove his love to her. Sierra appeared on the fourth season of "American Idol" in 2005 and made it to the finals before being voted off the show.
Detectives said the Young left nearly 40 messages on Sierra's phone saying that he loved her even after the girl told him to stop calling.
"He called me six or seven times a day, leave me voice mails claiming we were going to be together," Sierra said.
Investigators said Daniel Young told Tampa native, Jessica Sierra that he was willing to go to jail to prove his love to her.
Local 6 News aired a portion of a voice message saying, ": "Jessica, I really care for you. Jessica, Jessica, Jessica, Jessica. I got to come to Tampa eventually. I got to see you face-to-face."
Young allegedly followed Sierra from California to Tennessee and then to Florida. He was arrested after he traveled to Florida, Local 6 News reported.
Sierra said she does not want him to go to jail, just to leave her alone.
Young's next court date is Jan. 23.
